and thnx hahah lol
The "play-by-play" guy is Lon McEachern; his last name is actually pronounced more like McErren (which is eerily similar to the Vegas airport's name, McCarran). I agree, Norman Chad could probably stand to cut back on the ex-wife references -- we've heard them all now, Norm, move on -- but he's worlds better than WPT's Vince Van Patten, whose patois leans heavily on bad puns and analogies related either to the venue or players' day jobs ("Phil Ivey really put the anasthesiologist to sleep with that bluff, Mike!"
.
I, too, enjoy Kaplan the most, but that may in part be because I grew up in New York and I remember "Welcome Back, Kotter." I was somewhat surprised to learn recently that he was the WSOP color guy for a while.
how does it compare to wsop
Norman is cheesy, but he makes me laugh. They are both very enjoyable to listen to. I couldn't imagine having different hosts for the shows.
If you listen to some of the old WSOP broadcasts prior to Lon and Norman on PokerTube or YouTube, you will really appreciate what the two of them bring to the table.
I think they're excellent, love listening to them.
