odd amount of chips in a tied pot

say there is a pot of 2005 chips and a A high str8 is on the board giving the players a chopped pot....wut determined who get 1003 chips and 1002 chips....

not a big deal really,i was just wondering what gives one person that extra chip

I believe the way they determine the winner of the "odd chip" is the player who had the worst position.
