Changes for '09 - food for thought

Something to keep in mind when coming up with your suggestion!!!

Last year, Railbirds offered $2800 a week in Freerolls. This year, they cut that in half, down to $1400. any suggestions I will make will try to convince the Admin. to "meet in the middle" and raise the weekly bank to $2000

Read Quasipro's blog. They have already come up with a solution that they believe is thief and crasher proof.

The freerolls were cut in half for two reasons.

1. Railbirds is a poker school intended to make us better players.
The freerolls had turned into a poor play all in fest infiltrated by pw thieves and crashers.

2. There are players at all levels and the real money players were being given just two tournaments a week. The new schedule with Guaranteed tournaments gave the real money players equal opportunity.

I'm personally thankful for the fact that they offer Freerolls at all for it's members. In addition to the Freerolls, they have Guaranteed Prize Pools for the Ranking Tournaments, the Monthly Quiz Freeroll, the Monthly Top 100 for the RMR Ranking, and Freeroll for the Top 50 Freeroll players.... endless knowledge, great people, and the list goes on...

Not many websites out there do so much for it's members without charging a price.

Just my opinion.

Well, good luck. Given todays advertising market I would expect the funding to go downward, not raise. I don't deposit, and I have slowly gotten both PS and FTP over $30.00, and I appreciate any free money I can get. My job now is to run it up, not loose it.

I am glad that I still get freerolls period. Thanks Railbirds.

I understand having a cut and have no complaints I just enjoyed last year at the end how there was a freeroll top 100 which this year there is not. I played in it and did well and worked really hard to be in the top 100 which made me a better player this year after their was nothing I have freefailed in the rankings because there was no way to make it to the top and no incentive so I have taken more chances played in less freerolls. But I have enjoyed win or lose every real money ranking tourney I have played in I just can't play in many any more because I am only off 3 days a week during an hour I can play in one of them.
