I play cash games more then any thing.

I feel a person can get burnt out on line of playing because if you want to cash more then not it takes alot of patcients online well in any for that matter.
Online a person must do very very little bluffing unless he/she has been on table for a long time with the same people(understnding others moves because you have watched thr action) problem with online is players change so fast at a table and you do not remember who was sitting where and when. Live people seem to remember better because of watching players.

Yes on line you can make notes and notes can be good but do not think because they played away last week that they will play the same way every time.

Online i say do very litle bluffing in ring games is because you can always count on a less experianced online play bluffing at wrong time and take them for all the money they have on the table. Keep in mind there is always the chance of a player bluffing but getting lucky anyway.

Most functions are same as live and on line, but it seems to me as said online many still try to play the same as live and when they do they will not do as well. Also i feel online some forget just because you dnt see the real money down on the table in front of them they get the wrong mind set and for get it is real money not just a number in front of them.

Hope the above makes since.

play the nuts and thats it. cash games on the net are crazy....people dont know to fold i think sometimes. but you need to just play real rocky solid aggressive poker and you should do just fine. if not i dont know what to tell you. but i will tell you that i personally hate the cash games on full tilt. that is mainly cuz i play the micro limit games. but gl and play on sky.

advice for playing on fooltilt : always look for what beats your hand, and expect the other player to have it.

beware going against the chip leader, he will more than likely suckout with any two cards

Where do you play live? I only ask because from my experience as bad as many people play online, the play in casinos is horrible; very easy to beat.

Well I think online and live are 2 totally different games ,

online there are far more loose players and expecting them to know when to fold is asking for trouble , you need to have a good hand and not get fancy with these types of players ,

on the other extreme is the scared too tight players who will fold the pot to the slightest raise ,

you just have to watch for a while and pay attention and figure out which type you're playing and adjust , gl

And are you playing limit or no? This makes a difference also.

i like to spend 5 hours playing a long tourney, and when I get to final table join cash table and lose more in 20 mins than I win in tourney.

that always works for me

I play cash games, and do way better in them than in tournaments. Tournament play is rushed as the blinds are on a timer and players know this. That fact causes them to push plays that they normally wouldn't... or at least shouldn't.

That said...

I just try to play a solid game while avoiding getting too much money on the table without the absolute nuts. That doesn't mean just sit there and not play or play back at a raise, but rather to control the amount you are willing to lose on a particular hand if you do get beat. You aren't rushed because the blinds are set, so wait to get large amounts only at the right moment. Limp in with decent hands, but don't be afraid to let go of a hand if you get a large raise pushed at you. Raise with premium hands, but never more than you could fold away if someone comes over the top with a rediculous gamble bet. If the table is too aggressive, stand up and go look for a better game. To win a hand you have to have control of it. That also means winning by controlling your losses. Losing $10 on a fold is much better than losing $20 on a bad beat. You'll have enough winning hands to keep you in the plus if you avoid losing large amounts on badbeats and even numerous small amounts on the average hand.

I know this sounds like it's all common sence, and that is how you already play, but if you are consistently losing at cash tables, there's a reason. It isn't the site. It isn't the opponents (unless you're playing out of your league). It's your style. Take a look at the hands you lose the most money on and compair them to the ones that you win the most playing... not just the cards played, but how the cards were bet on, your position and time at the table, and most importantly.... how often you win or lose with those plays.

Also be sure to use good control in your bankroll management. Don't play at tables that you can't afford to lose at. Scared money is easy money.
