Strategy for online rebuy tourneys?

Nov 19, 2008 12:52 am Report Abuse

Whats a good strategy for online rebuy tourneys? Speficially those at the lower limits like the $3.30 and $5.50 guarantee ones on Full Tilt.

Wait for people to make mistakes early in the tournament. You will build a pretty decent stack by people making dumb bets with marginal hands (since it is a rebuy tournament).

A lot of people don't learn to change gears after getting those extra chips during the rebuy period. I have seen good sized stacks that could have been used in the later stages of the tournament go down to nothing because the player will continue to challenge every all in with any two cards.

Notice after the rebuy period many of those players are still playing as if they can rebuy. Those players are your friends. Wait them out and they will be your atm machine.

as blogged before had a few idiot at my table going all in with..well nothing, might be worth called a few of these hands if you have a half decent hand have seen ace rag all too often and wished I'd call it. Often A small pair will take it down and double up. Other than than that play tight and let the donk's run out of BR.

2 Strategy's - first only buy in once, play smart good hands, try to build as many chips as possible until the rebuy is over avoid all ins unless you have AA- KK and maybe QQ if you have a read.

or
be a little loose and you may rebuy 2-5 times until you build a big stack, and then play tight aggressive once rebuy ends.

i never rebuy ,rarely add on

i play rebuy cause it makes deep pocket players real donkeys
