I love watching Poker After Dark, although it is very hard to learn the strategy of wading through a large tourney field to make it to the final table, which is what we see on Poker After Dark. Does anyone have a strategy for playing large Sit n Go's that seems to allow for avoiding the "DONK" period and gets a player into a frame of mind to play good poker instead of getting frustrated by the "DONKS"????? Any advice would be most welcome, as I had read an article that says to wait a few rounds then start playing, like Phil Helmuth showing up traditionally late to the WSOP, I assume he does it to avoid the small pot lunacy that goes on and the "DONKS" as well.....Thanks in advance!!!!!

Dooger, this is what I personally do. The buy in is free and a new one starts every couple of minutes so I go ahead and join in the all-in donk fest that starts at the beginning. You have to come in the top 2 to get a ticket and the blinds move up rediculously fast. No point in wasting a hour or two of your life scrounging by with a short stack that will quickly become and all in or fold situation which is rather boring IMO. If you get knocked out oh well just join another. If you want to play poker for fun I suggest the new freeroll satelites to the NBC heads up thing which also come up every couple of minutes but because it is heads up you actually get to play poker. The down side is you can't unregister for FTP if you win.

The 180 person poker after dark .com freerolls on full tilt nbsp;are easy to win because you only have to get top 2 and everyone goes all in on the first hand. So if you win the first hand it is pretty easy to win the tournament. Plus another freeroll starts about every 5 minutes so you can play alot of these at the same time. This gives you a good chance to win the first round. These tournaments are a good way to build up ftp because you can unregister from the second round for 100 ftp. The best strategy is to always go all in on the first hand until you win the first hand and then play tight until you make the final 2.

I wastch too. Have you noticed how many hands get folded? Anyway on large tourneys my way is either be very good at bluffing or fold all but good percentage hands.

I watch Poker After Dark every day. It's an amazing show, a lot of pro's come and play, and you can watch how they play and adjust your play. When I play freeroll's I usually make the money. I think to play good in freeroll's all you need is patience.

i have won a 360 seat and also took the point's instead of playing in the next round. I play them all the time and yes everyone goes all in just about everyhand exspecially in the beginning ..I usually sit back and wait for a very good hand..I have been on the final table at least 7x most recent I placed 6th..my hardest problem is i sit back to much and if i make it then I am short stacked and the blinds usally get me cause they increase so quick.. Just play in alot of them and you will get the hang of the way they play at ft..

5spades2u ..see ya on the felt!!
