Dear Railbirds,
I have to share this bad beat story-it has been very typical of the bad beats I have had to endure over the last two weeks...
I am dealt poket nines...
I call the blind, one opponent behind me raises all-in(600 chips)...The guy behind him( mr. loose aggressive) calls, everyone else folds, and of course I give the standard flat call, trying to trap him....
The flop comes 7,6, and 2...I bet 400 chips to protect my pocket 9's, and he calls...At about that time, I knew he was looking for a lucky hit...
The turn card comes a J of hearts and I check it to him...sure enuff, he pushes all-in....After thinking about it and observing his previous style of play (bluff city) I figured lets go and I push all in....
correct call!
he flips over q7 and I flip over my 9's...
got him beat right?
...not....
the river card comes a 7 and I'm knocked out of another tourney.....very, very typical for me the last two weeks...
If there is any solace that I can take from this hand was the fact that I made a world class call on the turn to look up his q7 with my poket 9's...still stings though....
