Daniel Negreanu

Nov 17, 2008 1:45 am Report Abuse

Some one in another post asked how KidPoker himself was able to read people so well. There are several players who do this not only is Daniel great it so is sir Phil Hellmouth, Joe Hachem, The Main Man Doyle and the never to be forgotten Chip Reese just to name a few who I've watched call exact hands. It is scarey and it is a learned art. Reading people is half the battle. I have seen myself call many hands right on. I didn't think I'd ever do it. But as I have dealt many games and watched players bet and betting styles I was able to say he has such and such and it was such and such. With playing experience and just watching games you will see what they see and learn. Some people catch on faster than others but it is do-able.

Have you been watching High Stakes Poker??? In every season I have watched Daniel Negreanu very closely. He has tells as do all these players. What has blown my mind is his ability to read hands time after time. When he misses though he tells people I just don't know. He has lost a tom of money in the game but side bets have kept him afloat. When he isn't reading people well or being overly cautious he loses a lot. I Have seen him question his reads and sometimes he is right on the question... Which is also unbelievable. Over all He is my Second Favorite player.

Very well said, ya there are lots of good readers, Danny is one of the best, but we often see him call after he reasons he is beat, but thats part of the game. Look at it this way: Dolly is a better reader than anyone, but he keeps quiet about it. When he calls on a hunch against his analysis, we don't know that he had the villain pegged but thot a bluff or something else might make for a call, a hunch... Sure you see the loss on tv but overall they win more than lose through reading situations.
