i am never satisfied with my game as it could always improve. your confidence will improve though as you learn. patience is the biggest key i have found so far. gl 2u

No one should ever be satisfied with their game.

you always keep trying to get better

I will second what has been said so far, be patient, read books and be patient.

4 months is nothing when it comes to poker. You need to play many tens of thousand of hands to get a good feel for the game.

As far as having total confidence in your strenght, i hope you never do because that is when you will make big mistakes and lose a lot of $$$.

Confidence comes with experience, it is not an attitude you were born with so be patient, read books and play small stakes. You can also watch people play at a level higher than what you are playing to see how they play and what kind of moves they are making. This will prepare you for when you're ready to move to that level.

A great book especially for struggling beginners is: Insiders Secrets To Texas Hold’em Poker Online by Theo Cage.
Small staked games are a playground for donks, because they represent little financial risk.
The road to improving your game is experience and education.

Identify your goals and your current level play, if they don’t fit well together, educate yourself on, and, fill in the gaps so to speak.

if you are a perfectionist then never as you will never stop learning
to feel confident should take about a year or so but that depends on the person and other stuff

good luck and take care

it all depends on you! and your desire to learn and improve.

there is no finite formula or destination where you have arrived at being a good poker player, its a journey and you have to pay your dues first before you can expect to win consistantly.

sounds like you have just begun your schooling, gl and be patient

we who love frustration, anger, exhiliration, we will forever be un satisfied with the results, if you are talking about "tournament play" then look at the size of the fields involved, then figure that on 1% to 10% are going to come in to the money structure that leaves 90%-99% OUT OF THE MONEY!!! will we ever be satisfied on occaison most times not!!! gl don't give in and don't give up for you are not alone!!!
fatpig Nov 16, 2008 4:31 pm
you should never be satisfied, a little more confident maybe? but never satisfied

Mike Sexton said, "It takes a minute to learn, and a lifetime to master"......No truer words were ever spoken about Tournament No limit Hold 'Em, it is a progressive thing, the more you play, and learn, the more you realize you need to know, it never stops ! To be successful at poker can, and does happen at all levels, the secret is to set a goal for winning X amount of money in X amount of time, formulate a plan to get you there, and then track your progress towards your goal !

Success is well defined as,"The Progressive Realization of a Worthwhile Dream "

.....play on ....Tc.....

there is an old sayin in poker ' it takes a few minutes to learn an a lifetime to master; poker is allways changing an evolving so you have to allways be making subtle changes to your game. confidence will come in time but there will allways be that shadow of doubt when you push all-in or call an all-in without havin the nuts an that is what makes this game so fun.hopefully you will have enough understanding of the game to not go on tilt an berate other players when the bad beats occur an trust me they will come. but it also swings the other way so when you put a bad beat on someone be a gracious winner it is a lot more satisfing than whooping an hollering.GL on an off the felts an remember be flexable. mechanic

Thank You all for the advice, some of them have been instantly helpful, others will probably come in hand as the time goes by... I appreciate it very much )

How long have each of you, experienced players, have been playing? I have played around 300 sit and goes and about 150 tournaments...About 6-7 months I have played.
Daniaka Nov 17, 2008 3:51 am
I think I envy you. Because 4 months after I started playing I thought I was gods gift to poker. That's been many moons ago, and now I just try to learn ever time I play. Good luck and give it time, you'll see a big difference. I also second all the comments above too.
