First off I am still very hyped about this, I got back from a live cash game at the place we have our live weekly freeroll tournaments that I am the host of a few hours ago. These are done once a month, it has been awhile since I played in it. I was invited by the bar owner to come play in this, I wasn't sure if I would have the cash to do so for the buy-in or get that day off from work. He offered to pay my way into it, I was able to get the day off and I am ever so F'ing happy I did. Buy-in was $50+$10 for food that the owner provided for us players, we started up about 11am. There were some breaks now an then including lunch, but all-in-all when it was all said and done it was about 6:15pm. Started out with 28 players at 4 tables, 2 bounties at each table for $10 each in which case I was picked as one of them and a 10K starting stack.
First part which had me all messed up were the chips that the other players helped me with because until tonight I haven't used a non-marked chips. But after some time I caught onto it rather well and had less issues.
I started getting a bit little low on my stack but not too bad, then it was like a switch was pulled in my favor but in rather a bad position at the table. I seemed to start getting very nice starting hands UTG, I started raising 3x-4x the BB. Not many stayed if they called my PF bet when the flop came because I then raised even more. This type of thing went on for many times me being UTG until I was moved to another table where it was then two tables and where the chip leader was at. I was second in chips and my getting nice starting hands PF UTG was gone. I lost some more chips trying to fight and gain some more to have a chance to make pay-out which was the top four players. At this table after awhile it became insane what happened, me personally I have not seen something like this. I hit a fire hot streak, I played and raised 3x-4x the BB 7-9 hands in a row. Every one of those hands I had were very nice to great starting hands, then after awhile just as quick as it came it left and I was folding.
By the time we got to our last break that we had during it I had a now very well health stack and down to 5 players and on the bubble. I made some huge calls I also got lucky on some as well but in which I was taking some chances and won some and I lost some. I knew at that time during break I was gonna make the pay out which was for some time my main concern, once I reached that I then shifted my frame of mind. Once we got to HU I was ice cold cards so I was losing chips fast and knew there was going to be a time I was gonna need to play a bit crazy again. Then there was talk of me and him chopping the prize money which would be more then getting 2nd place, I know I should of taken the amount but I was now in a different mind set. I was now there to win and not going to leave there not knowing what might of been. I had one hand where I tried to set a trap then felt it backfire on me, I became pissed off at myself for it. At this point me and the other guy were about even in chips I get dealt ten/9 clubs binds were 2K/4K and I was BB( I think ) the guy calls my BB I know I should of raised but felt he might have me and then re-raise all-in. I didn't want to try that one again. I hit a ten on flop with two much lower cards and were all wrong suit for me being red cards. He bets like 4X BB, I think a bit and decided to say the heck with it I shove all-in he calls quick. He had a lower pair to what was on the board, turn came an paired the board giving me the better two pair, the river came a ten for a boat for me to win it over all and I had him covered by one 500 chip.
So besides the 1st place prize money of $720 I also gained my own bounty on me of $10 for a total of $730, in which I went and paid back the $60 to the bar owner telling him thank you very much for having faith in me and inviting me to it. I also told some I don't know if it was just because the owner paid my way into it or if it was that along with the bounty placed on me I took 1st in it.
And now my wife has mentioned she isn't gonna complain too much about me playing poker like she has before after tonights win. Sorry this is such a bit of a read but hell I am hyped about this, most that know me know my playing background and so-forth has not been easy but I am gonna do my best to keep fighting to move forward.

I just popped back in for a bit before I head out to my other job for tonight, I just got done working my 2nd job so don't got too much time.
But first of all thank you very much for the congrats, and this is a much shorter version then I could have done with some of the hands I won & lost.
An for Cuprin, I do not know where you live but if you are in the states it could be possible that you have a chance to get your feet wet in LIVE games/ trny's. Like I mentioned I also host a live weekly freeroll game in which I believe helped me a great deal in my cash buy-ins games. These freeroll live games at-least the ones I been a part of are no where near the craziness you see on-line. Maybe we could talk some on it an I could find you a place that might be playing in a state that is part of the poker league I am a part of.
As for the " chop offer " I could tell the other guy was wanting to do it so it was up to me. I went with what I learned from the guy that has been my mentor in live play, " If your gonna buy into a game consider the money GONE, don't try to just make the pay out go to win the entire damn thing ". Second place paid out $360, the " chop offer " would of paid out $540 each which is more then second place. Even if I got second place I would of been more then happy with it, but then the thing that would of drove me crazy is " WHAT IF.......... " and that was the thing I could not let happen if I would of taken first or second in it really. On smaller games I do sometimes do the chop offer but this one was too big and I couldn't allow myself to say " yes ".
MentallyInsane, you know as well as I do one thing I have said I may not be great or good, I am still learning just like you but if you want anytime I will teach you what I do know from my own time in playing. Alot of things I do is not great advise but it has worked rather well for me and I have learned from others that we have played against there in the weekly live games. You know I can play rather well and you have seen many times how crazy I have played. For example in our side cash game both me an Dave played three hands in a row with-out touching or looking at our cards. One of us would raise a bit the other would call or we would just check all the way to showdown, you were right there at the table playing as well but me and Dave were the only ones in on the hands.
For others I am glad I was able to my thoughts and feelings out to where it was like you were there. I was trying to do some of that with out this becoming very l o n g blog. And yeah as far as sleep besides a few other issues after I got back from the game I got about 1-2 hrs of sleep got up started work about 9am got done about 3pm and right now I am about to head out again to my other job that I start at 5pm until about 11-11:30pm. Good thing I got Monday off both places.
