The RMR and priorities (for the RMR crowd)

Nov 15, 2008 5:01 pm Report Abuse

A few pokerpals here have asked me what's up with my RMR quest and my sliding attendance, so I figured I'd just blog it here and get it off my chest at the same time.

With the time change recently, I just can't commit to the afternoon games anymore, they cut into my daily late afternoon hikes with dogs and friends. Exercise and fresh air rank higher on my priorities list than poker. Also had some family health issues recently and missed a bunch of games. I'll only be able to make less than half of the remaining games for the year and that just aint gonna cut it in order to catch QP and Hughes.

This is not an excuse blog, just explaining my situation. I honestly never intended to compete for the whole year anyway, then I caught a mad run of points last February and said what the hell, I'll try to stay in the hunt for awhile. It was both fun and frustrating at times, but I'm kinda relieved its over now.

It should be alot of fun to watch Hughes and QP battle it out to the end! Make no mistakes, it will come down to those 2 guys, they are great players and they're seriously commited to winning it all.

laters...

IT is what it is.If its meant to be than its meant to be.You only have one life and you can be the moth that flys to the lamppost or the moth that flys to the moon cause in the end its not the destination its the journey.

I think most people understand that personal,and family life,takes priority over social life.Poker after all,is just a game we like to play,when we can play it.

I can't imagine anyone putting you down,for want ing to take a break away from the game.As we all know,poker can be very time consuming,and sometimes we just can't find that time.

Everyone who knows you at RB,knows that you have nothing to prove,as far as poker is concerned.You've been there,done it,and got the tee shirt to prove it ,as they say.Or in your case,the scarf.. And also a nice little bankroll,for all your time and effort.

So,let the others sweat it out for the next 6 weeks or so.I'm sure they will be happy to know, that you won't be snapping at their ankles any more this year.

Good luck in the rest of your games mate.

I hear you Manny and I agree that anyone can go dry at any time, but I'm making the decision to pull out based on a few things;

I will only be able to play at BEST...half of the remaining games, now weigh that against the fact that I am currently 800 pts. or so behind the leaders, both QP and H are going neck and neck to the end, they wont be missing many games...I can guarantee you that.

Like I said in my blog; I have issues at home that need my time and chasing the carrot in this contest takes a backseat.

thx for the comments guys
