ft punishes good player...

Nov 15, 2008 8:40 am Report Abuse

i dont care what any of you say, the site is the biggest joke ever.

lost 15 buy-ins the last 2 days...

just finished up a session: AA, KK QQ all got crushed... A/K, A/Q got raped of course b/c they always 2 pair with their A/rag...

TPTK, with NUT FLUSH DRAW CRUSHED by runner runner straight...

overview: never won a single pot with high pairs. draw with over 14 outs can't hit... 4 to 1 favorites ends up being 10 to 1 underdog... some of the worst players on the internet, i can't take this anymore...

get AA 1st hand of a sit and go... idiot raises with 8/4, I RERAISE TO 300, he flat calls in the SB???... pretty sure u know what happens on the flop... 8/8/4 of course...

If all these hands hold up, i make about 5-7 buy-ins. of course i will get a bad beat here and there, but I LOST EVERY SINGLE HAND????? WITH A 4 TO 1 FAVORITE??? EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM... u have got to be kidding me....

well what stakes were you playing? at the lower limits its harder to protect ur hands people have like 200 buy ins and mess around some times. at the higher stakes you want pepoole to draw if your a long time plyer and its easier to protect ur hands sound like you were buying in for like 5 or 10. what stakes was it at

best to leave happy with something to show,,,,,myself looking back had wished i took out my bankroll to,,,,,,watched it grow to a healthy amount ,,,,then melt away like the winter snow in the spring,,,,leaving nothing but a small snow drift in the shadow of a rock

sounds just like stars to me... no difference.. u just gotta play HIGH stakes like ring games-2/4 and up and tourneys-20 and up... and i know, if ya dont have the bankroll to get in those games then theres nothing you can do but hope you can build one amongst all these morons in low limit... GL to you sir, im on the same mission

Can't say I'd argue. I've encountered the same thing over the past couple of days. High pairs beaten by lower pairs hitting a set, etc. No way to bet the opponents out. For every good result, there are five bad ones waiting. It's disappointing. Just goes to show that luck is just as much a part of the game as skill. Skill only gets you so far. From there, luck had better be on your side or you're screwed.

But to say that any one site is worse than another is ridiculous. I've had the same pattern of bad beats hit me on any site you'd like to name. "Bad play" is rampant. And it always seems to favor the one with more money or chips. Unless, of course, I have the most. But I blame myself more than I blame the other player or site. If I didn't want to risk losing, I shouldn't play. Since I knew I'd lose the hand, I should have folded. I'm more fascinated when I don't get sucked out on than when I do.

All in all, I'd still say that bad beats are a part of the game. And you don't normally remember the ones that go in your favor, because you still get to play afterward. After watching the WSOP this season, I saw the same amount of bad beats that I'd anticipate seeing on-line. It's only the fact that you can only play one table at a time and the hands are dealt at a slower pace that changes the frequency.

It sounds to me like the classic definition of "running bad". You hear the pros talk about it all the time. Some players even have off years. So don't think you're the only one. If it's aggravating, take a break. No one's forcing you to play. And throwing more money at it is definitely the wrong approach. It's like quicksand: the more you struggle, the deeper in you go. In my case, I've given myself the night off and don't plan to play again until, at the earliest, tomorrow night and maybe not even then. I don't want my bad attitude influencing my play.

That's my perspective. Take from it what you will.

Wow!Looks likes you've taken a right old biffin,over the last few days,there m8.

Perhaps a few days away from the comp screen, might be in order,to refresh your batteries, and come back for another bash at it.

allndaryl Nov 15, 2008 10:00 am

all the people telling you to play higher stakes are hoping to see you at the tables.

better idea just get away from the game for a short time anyway

Finally!

A kindred soul....as an example, earlier today, I was in a guaranteed tourney; went up twice against same player...first time JJ vs. AK, of course he hit K on the flop...OK, I can take a race loss...3 hands later, I get KK, same guy reraises me all in with 10/10 and you can guess what happens...he hits his two outer with room to spare, and KOing me out of the tourney...I can relate my friend, I can relate....!

In service,

MrLimpitt

You're going to run into bad players where ever you go... One thing that you should consider is if you can't beat the limit that you're at now because you think the players are so bad what makes you think that you'll be able to beat the higher limits where the players are much better? You WANT to play against the bad players... NOT the good ones.
Drewster Nov 15, 2008 10:37 am

i never said anything about about beating higher limits to the poster above...

if u understood how the fishes play their hands against me, MAYBE you would understand...

Drewster Nov 15, 2008 10:42 am

All the money went in preflop... for all u haters, this is what i have to deal with every day.... f*king idiots going all in with 3/4.... yea, welcome to my world...

It hurts but it is a fact of poker. To many players it is gambling so they roll the dice, sometimes the better players will get on a roll and best these gambles but sometimes it turns the wrong way. Internet games do breed more gamblers but hopefully the odds pay off in the long run for you and the rest of the good players.

Not enough information given with documentation to give an opinion. Based on just what you posted you haven't proven anything either and it doesn't sound any different than what happens live.
