Hey you great birds, many of the first round state qualifiers for the USA team are starting at 2100 server time and they are not drawing the kind of crowds i had expected, might be a good chance for a little poker adventure. I'll be playing in the Texas qualifier and hope to see some birdbuds there. If you haven't seen the listings for these games, look at POKERSTARS under "Events-World Cup-US Qualifiers" and read about the possibilities at this link.... http://www.pokerstars.com/wcp/qualify/ . There is another round of qualifiers Sunday if you miss tonights. So, if you want a shot at representing the USA in the world finals held in the Bahamas, January 5th-10th, 2009, you haven't missed your chance yet.

I'm not sure if you can play in both events or not. I have heard others say you can't but i am not able to find that restriction on the website (which doesn't mean it's not there, i could be looking right past it) but I'll worry about that when it is time to register for the second one. Gunna give the first one my best shot for now.

National Team Qualification Route
If you do not qualify for your state team, you can still qualify for one of the two national USA Teams. Like all other teams in the World Cup of Poker, USA 1 and USA 2 will consist of four players – two Freeroll Tournament Qualifiers and two TLB players.
Two positions on each of the USA teams will be decided by two Freeroll Tournament Qualifiers. The final table finishers of these qualifiers will play in an 18-player final.
To register for the USA national teams qualifying tournaments, please visit your PokerStars game client and click "Events", "World Cup" and then "US Qualifiers". Once in the "US Qualifiers" lobby you will find the Team USA qualifying tournaments. For a schedule of USA qualifying events, visit the Team USA Schedule page.
So, your chances to qualify are not over yet, just can't make it through the state qualifier tourneys if you havent made it into you final yet. Here is the graphic on the qualifying structure of the event.
