Hi.
Second level on tonights HORSE freeroll we are on Omaha H/L - which I have never played before. I was just knocked out... no big deal, but I am a little confused regarding the hand I lost all my chips with. I am dealt A235 and a 4 comes on the flop... great... the betting goes crazy and by the last betting round I'm in for 900 chips - with a 4 way pot I am happily waiting for them to cvome my way,
Very odd then that the winners (split pot) won with 2 pair.... doesn't my straight count in Omaha?

Same thing would have happened to you if you held, say, four hearts and a fifth came on the board.
In Omaha, your hand is the best combination you can make with two of your cards and three of the board's. That's why the worst hand in Omaha is four deuces -- it can't be improved -- and why getting all four aces is also a pretty bad hand.
I once entered a razz no limit tourney by mistake... when the first hand was dealt I panicked and quickly rushed to the site to see what the hell is razz. Meanwhile I just 'did a freeroll' and went all in.... by the time I had read the rules of the game I was chip leader with 5.200 chips... got paid in the end too.... but that doesn't work with limit lol.
Anyway thanks for the heads up - if you'll pardon the pun
