Been playing the 0.10/360 player tourneys on PokerStars. Can't seem to get past top 30 with tight play, loose play or aggressive or conservative play

Any suggestions???

I just finished 4th in one this evening.

I tend to play tight for the first 45 minutes or so, trying to catch some of the aggressive players with a premium hand. If the cards are hitting, I will then loosen up my play to include some of the lesser starting hands. I tend to get lucky with a couple of "favorite" hands, like K9s, along the way.

Also, I don't change styles unless I get moved to another table.

I haven't really thought about how often I do well in these tourneys. I play these about once or twice a week and I have made the final table several times. Of course, I have also been taken out at 300+. lol

Take care and God bless,

Same problem here with these tourney's. usually make the money (ha). but have problems after that, ive had a good chip lead at 30 players and then found myself out 4 hands later, due to not catching cards/being out drawn. Its all about fate in these games. You just have to realise it will be your turn to catch the suckouts and win the tourney soon.

Played in a 360 pl freeroll tonight which is essentially the same thing. Got Aces on the 4th hand.. re raised UTG.. and 4 players went all-in in front of me. A hit the river beating mr. j4's two pair.. then I walked away till at least half the field was gone. Played tight after that.. couple of moves.. nothing too crazy.. Final table was a bunch of yahoos, and ended up going out 5th.

I'd say almost 1st half of the tourney, get your money in with premium hands and say a little prayer.

Ive won 2 of them, but i think the key is simply catching hands when the blinds get high if you make it to the top 30.
