Capt.Jack signed up on this date exactly one year ago - happy anniversary!
Actually, my first RB account was set up Sept 1, 2007. It still exists, but I've only logged on there 3 times this year. I was never active using that account and still have no friends there. I would just come here and read, and never write anything. This was the first communtity that I had ever seen (much less joined) on the internet, and admittedly, I was cautious and shy about becoming a part of it all, even though I had been refered here by trusted friends. I only played at FTP at the time, so I decided to set up a new account here using my poker name instead of my real name. I then became an active part of the community feeling somewhat "safer" in this strange new world using a fake name. I haven't been the same since. Sometimes I actually believe my name is Jack, and answering to Cappy is as natural as breathing. I have considered going back to my original account and claiming my role here as my true self, but then I've realized that I am Capt.Jack. The name is fake, but everything I've done and said here is me.... the true me. So, I will remain Cappy, and embrace this RB Birthday as my own.
Thank You Railbirds for a wonderful year of friends and new found family. I am honored to be a part of this.
