tournys or sit-n-gos

Nov 14, 2008 1:31 am Report Abuse

i would like to think of my self as more a tourny player then anything. nothing beats the thrill of playing for hours on end and makin it to the final table. what about you guys and gals?

I enjoy tournaments, especially here with my 'birdie friends... but $-wise, I have been doing really well in the 18-27-45 player sit-n-go's... I play a lot of the $5 ones, and it's been quite easy to place itm consistently, and they pay much better than the small $1.50 or $2 tournaments - plus, when you get to the final table, the action accelerates like tournies, it gets very intense to the winner!

Im undecided. I like SNGs because they are fast and I can focus on the players, instead of being switched so much. But I like the thrill of a MTT, because you can make a lot more profit if you make the final table.

I like playing tournaments, but to make money the rng's are the best way to go.

for quick $ sng but myself i like mtt try to stay away from the ring games unless i feel like giving my bankroll away

Like the sng's best. Enjoy the 90 seat $3 knockout. Good payout for the entry fee if you finish in the top 3

ring games are nice because its almost like money in your pocket. but I have also have success in tournys. sit-n-gos however are kind of like the best of both worlds.

turbo sit-n-gos are my fav

I play both and the decision on which I play is how much time I have to play. Longest time I have spent on one tournament was 8 hours and I took second. Sit&Gos usually are done within two or three hours.

A ring game is where you can make money fast, espically from the people who primarily play tournaments, and don't understand it takes a different strategy. A well rounded player will mix ring games , sit-n-go's, and tournaments into his play. Whichever one you seem to be most comfortable with should get your main focus, but playing them all will keep you from getting bored with one format ! It is also good to mix up the type of game you play occasionally !

....play on ...Tc....

go for the sit n go's. i make all kinds of money on 45 person tubo's, but then lose it all on cash games!! lol, they are more exciting!

I do better in the larger tournaments. I think the important thing is just to try everything and see what works best for you. Once you do, keep working on everything else but concentrate on the games that reward your strengths.
