Razz Confusion lol

Nov 12, 2008 7:14 pm Report Abuse

Razz is not one of my strong games lol. It defies all the rules of poker as we know it. Well I actually tried some thng even more confusing. I tried playing in a Razz freeroll at the same time that I was playing a No limit hold 'em tourney. Let's just say I'll never do that again. lol, I guess I'm not good at multi tasking. Any suggestions on playing Razz?

LOL, I registered for last night's RAZZ freeroll, not realizing that's what is was....Obviously, wasn't sure what I was doing. I had players at the table making fun of me (RUDE< by the way). I had to took up the rules. Needless to say, I didn't do very well.

razz is awesome i always only play 3 starting low cards of course A23 would be the best 3 starting being a2345 is best low hand but its a great game cause alot of people just dont really kno how to play it lol so i enjoy it alot except the limit part cause it takes forever but its a great game just give it a chance

I HATE HATE HATE razz

I love razz. People play too many hands in it though and stay way after they should fold, makes it more profitable for me though. Like ieatdope said make sure to only start with three low cards, that helps a lot and if you brick twice just fold.

Hey...new here...anyways, razz isnt too difficult of a game. It can actually be the easiest to play. Like the person above me said, you just have to have the lowest hand possible, A2345 being the best hand you can get. Another thing is it starts from your highest card. So having an A2348 is worse than A4567. But the good thing about it is that it is played like stud so you can see how your hands compare to other people and can get a sense of what they have. I hope this helps a little bit.

Love razz ! luv luv luv it! where i have the problem is in the horse tourneys where it is followd by stud and stud hi lo. I sometimes dont catch the game changes and that is when i get my best razz hand A 234678 and my best stud hands always happen in a razz game AA253AA lol

Razz is fun once you kinda get the hang of it!!! I think Omaha is a fun game too....So many chances to make a great hand in Omaha and so many ways to get beat by a better hand...lol

Razz is a great game. Can be confusing if you are playing with other games. I especially don't recommend playing stud hi and razz at the same time. At least not until you are sure you won't mix them up.

finished 10th, i thought it was alot of fun. looking for the "worst" starting hands is no problem,i actually excel at that aspect of the game.LOL. see ya @ the next one.

when I play razz I wont play anything if I have 2cards over 8 8 and lower im in depending on the bets and if I cant get a 5 card hand with my highest being an 8 and i try to get an A or 2 in there for saftey other than the way I play the best lowest 5 cards win

Sometimes you have to get rid of great starting hands! For instance, let's say you have 2 5 7...not too shabby. THen you look around and see everyone else's up cards. If you see some 3s 4s and 6s you hand has turned into junk because they have the cards you need to make your 7 lo. A lot of people forget to pay attention to the other players' cards, which makes razz seem like much more of a crapshoot than it really is.

I can understand how you felt, first time I tried it I was like what the hell is this. But then I started reading up on it a bit then got a bit of the basic idea how to play it to where I can be I guess fair in it. I guess it isn't that bad doing a razz game and another game like no limit hold'em. Just think of how it would be doing a razz game at one table and then a stud game on another one.

The thing about it for me in last nights game was for the most part I was getting nice starting hands for stud. I know if I would of been playing a stud game it would be nice starting hands for razz.
