I have been asked many times how to post a poll in the forum, so I've created this guide to help aid you in posting your own polls. I've also included a few tips at the bottom as well for those who often run contests and want as many people as possible to see the polls and vote.
A Step By Step Guide To Posting A Poll In The Railbirds Forum
-
Click “Forums” from the Start Page. This will take you to the main page of the forums.

-
Select the proper Forum Category for your poll, such as “General Poker Talk,” “Railbirds Tournaments,” “Off Topic”, etc..
-
At the top of the Category, such as Off Topic, select “New thread” This will take you to where you will type the main body of your post to explain your poll and the choices.
*Note: If you are wanting to post pictures for them to choose from this is the location that you will need to include your picture with a corresponding number for them to vote on.
-
After you have entered the text body and included any pictures that you might want/need, scroll down to where you see “Additional Options.” Select any of the additional options that you may want and check the box that says, “Yes, post a poll with this thread” Fill in the number of poll options that you wish.
-
Next you will hit the “Submit New Thread” button. It will then redirect you to the Polling
options.
-
Write your “Poll question” and then fill in each of the “Options” available for you poll.

-
After you have the the poll question and the options available, you'll now need to select when you want your poll to close on, and any other Miscellaneous Options available (such as allowing only one vote per person)

-
Once you have finished doing all of that I recommend previewing your poll and when you are satisfied with your post, you can “Submit New Poll”
-
Your poll will look similar to this:

-
If you need to go back into the actual post to add or alter anything, you can “edit” that post but you cannot make changes to the actual poll once it's posted.
*Tips: To post a picture in the forum simply click on the “insert image” button (it looks like a mountain picture) then post the URL. If you're wanting to include a picture from your Railbirds gallery, open the picture in your gallery, right click and select “Copy Image Location” then you can paste that URL into the forum URL pop up window.
When it comes to deciding a winner for a contest or another important poll, post a blog and include a link with “VOTE HERE!!” for them to click and cast their votes.
