That having the final table in November is weak. It would suck have to wait three months to play the tournmant out.

although i am looking forward to watching it live I do agree that waiting 3 months to finish it would suck bad.

not to mention it opens up all kinds of possible problems.....

what if one of them died before the final table was played.....

or the even more likely possibilty....2 or more of them get together sometime in the 4 months layoff...........and work out a plan to cheat...theres no way the event organizers can keep tabs on 9 people 24/7 for 4 months

reason they did it this way this year was to try and maximize the tv revenue....every other year everyone already knows who won long before it's televised ......this way they can advertise more and everyone will be watching because it's live.....

personally I dont think it was a good idea to do it this way......just opens the whole thing up to all kinds of possible problems

(btw..... for those that are curious....OP is referring to the WSOP )

I didn't realize they were playing live. I tried not to find out who won. They aren't going to play the entire final table live are they? I would think it would still be edited

I think its weak also..The final table players have the mojo going so let them keep playing and keep the flow going...Time off just might make them change their play and what if one of them cant make it back ? What would they do then?

its sucks if u r at the final table and have to wait but to everyone else it really doesnt matter

I just feel bad for the first guy to get knocked out, he doesn't make anymore than what he's been paid out. Hope whoever it is, they didn't blow it all lol.

I disagree the way its set up this year is a good answer to the donkfest of like wpt final tables this allows them all to get some coaching and to improve their overall game and make a final table in a multi million dollar event look like it should. As far as any two players falling into collusion very doubtful it will happen and even more doubtful that it wouldnt be caught. If someone died before now well he didnt need the money anyhow did he.

I don't think KelleyKin minds lol lol lol
BVALLAT Nov 9, 2008 9:46 am
The only thing i disagree with is now every player has to change there strategy... with three months they have plenty of resources to study peoples plays. whereas before they just played it out
freakyfish00 Nov 9, 2008 10:22 am
I dont like it
But I can see how it will work for TV

Collusion is just as possible as b4 but he wants to be caught and seeing this is its first year they will be watching everyone very closely
If someone died their chips will just be blinded out and wherever they finish will be the prizemoney they will recieve

Same if 2 people die
Also 9th spot still recieves more money at the rest of the prize money was held in trust and earnt interest to which it will be split up between the 9 players
Still a large amount of money
tiltaholic Nov 9, 2008 10:46 am

As far as the potential for collusion... pleazzz fughed abou dit... come on,.. it's millions at stake and played out before many more millions. You honestly think they'd be able to pull that off in front of all those people (come on.. they're not freerollers... lol).

If someone coulnd't make it back???... who wouldn't or couldn't make it back? I like what someone above here wrote, if they died then they wouldn't really be able to use the cash then anyways,.. would they, lol.

I think it's alright this way. I'd prefer it this way myself if I was one of the 9plyrs. A great oppurtunity to study the play of the others and to tweak one's own game and to get fully prepared for it.

it aslo gives each player time to do some research on ohter players style of play
