Lest we forget

In Flanders Fields
By: Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD (1872-1918)
Canadian Army

IN FLANDERS FIELDS the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

please donate to the vets of all the wars

Lest We Forget......ty Dooman....we cannot move forward without remembering from whence we came, and what it takes to have freedom in our lives .....ty to all the Vets.....

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

WEAR YOUR POPPY WITH PRIDE, IN HUMBLE HONOUR OF THE FALLEN WHO LAID DOWN THEIR LIVES SO THAT WE MAY CELEBRATE THE WONDROUS LIVES WE POSESS.

Remember the dead as a constant reminder of what has been going on..., and unfortunately still seems necessary to be done.

Think of those deployed now and wish them well...

dooman, I shall post a link to a site I have on the Net. My Marternal Grandfather's brother died at the landing of Gallipoli, Turkey. He was 20 years of age. Also my Maternal Grandfather was in the First Light Horse Brigade (mind you, none of these poor young men ever rode a horse in Turkey). I honour EVERY serviceman and servicewoman who has fought overseas for our Nation.

I'll NEVER forget the great men who died for us, so that we may have the freedoms which we enjoy today.

Please wear your poppy with pride as a salute to all of the fallen soldiers.

Am wearing my poppy with pride and many thanks. Have served, it is a family tradition - and have had family overseas recently. Will never ever forget.

That is one of my all time favorite poems.

As a Veteran that will be honoring other Veterans this weekend that is my chief complaint about the WSOP Main Event final table. This holiday is world wide and the WSOP dishonored Veterans world wide by plaing it this weekend when people will be remembering the fallen world wide.

remembering all that have lost their lives for our freedom is the right thing to do and giving a day for them is wonderful...but they should be remembered everyday!

We will never forget or fail to appreciate that Freedom isn't free and the men and women who make it possible for us to live as we now live.

Thanks Vets for doing what you did, so we can do what we do!

Thanks for posting dooman, and for sending the link along...

To all those that have and are currently serving, thank you. I'm currently in the Air Force w/17 yrs and reading these words always reenergizes my beliefs and reinforces in me that what I'm doing is for the greater good. We may never see what todays efforts will produce, but in 10-20 years those efforts will be clearly visable for all to see and hopefully understand why we do what we do. Without sacrifice, there will never be peace.
