WOULD YOU CALL?

Nov 6, 2008 8:19 pm Report Abuse

Here is the question.

In the SB, flop comes Railbirds card: KhRailbirds card: TsRailbirds card: 7s. You hit 2 pair on the flop, but there are 2 spades on the board. You bet and 1 other player raise all in. This is early in a RB freeroll. You are certain you are ahead, but there is the flush draw, would you call?

Just to let everyone know, how it turned out. First off it was a limp into the pot. After the flop I raised about half my stack, and the other player pushed all in. I called and he showed Railbirds card: KsRailbirds card: 3s. The turn was a spade and actually so was the river, so I was out.

Evizzzzz Nov 6, 2008 8:23 pm
how are you certain your ahead?
eridlon Nov 6, 2008 8:25 pm
I would, but then again people keep calling me a fish lol
Katchagirl Nov 6, 2008 8:27 pm
I'm a tight player, so it's doubtful that I would bother calling at this stage of the game. It does depend a little bit on how much I bet though.

Freeroll=Donkyness. To maky any money worth your while in the freerolls you need a big stack to make it deep. Theres no point playing catious. 2 pair is way enough to call and gamble here. Besides, the crowd is still filled with maniaks who will pay you off with any hand!

Toms correct.. FREEROLL = Donkyness...

Allin preflop with KK - 12 times the BB, get two callers.. lose to trip j's cos they were SOOOOOOOOOTED....

and of course, any ACE will do...

it all depends on how u entered into the flop...did u just limp did u call a raise or did you raise...if u flop 2 pair with draw on board i would go for it if i limped or raised...but if u called a big rasie preflop your best option is to fold casue possibility is they either flopped a set....

well if u think you are ahead you get your chips in. If you put him on a semibluff that he has 4 cards to the flush then mathematically you should call.

unless you put him on a set or he has an open ended straight and flush draw, say he holds QJ of spades you are behind.

Its hard to say as you dont give suited cards or say if u have top 2 pair or what?

This would obiously give u more hands to put him on so you should really make it clear, gl

I would call thinking he's on a flush or straight draw, but with my luck, he's got trips or K10.
SHERRY524 Nov 7, 2008 1:52 am
I would probably call because its a freeroll and start cussing about what is likely to unfold before it happens LOL Not in chat tho!
cj28000 Nov 7, 2008 4:37 am
yes i would call you are a big fav

i would take the risk for a early double up
ryai3 Nov 7, 2008 4:50 am
how can u possibly be certain ur ahead with 3 kicker lmfao..... K 4 has u beat lol
angster Nov 7, 2008 4:52 am
Certain you're ahead......... call, Call, CALL!
angster Nov 7, 2008 4:54 am
Its similar to the question: First hand in the WSOP you get AA and someone goes all in. what do you do. Its a tricky one because theres at least a 20& chance you'll lose but I'd call.
leavem Nov 7, 2008 4:55 am
ryai, I didn't have K3, the other guy did. I hit 2 pair on the flop.
Katchagirl Nov 7, 2008 5:03 am
It's amazing how people don't actually READ the blog before they comment...
tony17 Nov 7, 2008 5:03 am
I think your opponent has top pair, maybe a straight or flush draw. Either way I think you should call. Double up and build your stack!
Katchagirl Nov 7, 2008 5:17 am
Like I said... I woulda folded! hehehe
Spaz Nov 7, 2008 5:17 am
if you're certain you are ahead why would you fold...???
