There are a lot of bogs with poker strats. but one thing I have yet to see posted is picking the right table. This is s new strat. I am trying and have had some success. If there are several tables in your price range take a min before joining and watch. Look for a table that fits your game by watching a few hands to see how the table is playing. Was down for day and on a lark I decided to check out a bigger table than I normaly play (I know is against propper thoughts) . Well looked at one and seemed like a lot of pre flop lotto players ( not goood for me as to I was not in to just gambling my chips away) so pass, next looked at was semi tight but recognized couple players that I knew were agressive so pass again, Third looked like very tight table with lots of folds and getting to see flop for min. so decided was one for me. Well caught good cards then good hand and won first pot. Folded bad ang got to see flop on good through session, and ended up doubling my investment. Well then new players showed up and table changed, time to get out . Any way is just an example, my points are as follows. 1) I am sure that pros check out how players are playing before jumping in (why spend cash if you can just watch for free before deciding) 2) If you dont feel right at a table LEAVE , why waste chips at a table that doesnt fit your game 3) I could be wrong but do believe there are COLD and HOT seats (that hold for at least a while) ie: luck does count. 4) Look for a table that gives you fighting chance, if players seem out of your league they prob are. If People bet huge pre flop it adds much more CHANCE to game (bigger gamble some like I dont) If it looks like the table is a bunch of DONKS might be right.
Any how I roomed with a pro gambler and he always said that is not how good you are, it is picking the ones you can beat.
May the flop be with you, and the river never cause you sorrow.

I also look at the stacks the other players have. If I want to come in with $5, I don't want people with way more cash at the table.
