Election and Poker

Nov 5, 2008 12:49 pm Report Abuse

Does anyone believe the new government elected yesterday will repeal the law that caused so many poker rooms to be closed to Americans? Will online gambling be regulated? I hope this blog is not illegal

I think Pres. elect Obama has much bigger fish to fry... starting with our nation's economy or lack thereof...

I can't see it being a priority.

Only if they can find a way to tax it.....then look out!!!!

Not on your life. They don't want to buck the casino's and state lottery's. They want a piece of the pie for themselves and on-line poker doesn't offer it to them.

No president would ever approve of online gambling...unless there was some sort of incentive that gave money back to the government, and could be proven that it is more of a skill game than gambling

Won't change a thing. We have the same Congressional leadership we have had for the past several years. Nothing has changed. A President doesn't write the laws, Congress does.

Ok, being technical, no matter what congress is in office, it will not matter, 'online gambling' will never be leagilized in the United States
