donk is as a donk does.... i dont see anything you could of done.....
jffrywad Nov 5, 2008 4:45 am
aye looks good its just good ol ps and its monster A2 sooted hands. Ive seen that hand beat AK AQ AJ for last few weeks now.
Leinie_99 Nov 5, 2008 4:49 am
The only thing you might have done differently is put him all in preflop... he might have folded... you notice I say MIGHT. Otherwise you just got out drawn, I would have waited until the turn to move all in if that was the plan. By moving after the flop you were giving him a shot at 11 outs twice instead of once.
bwarlitner Nov 5, 2008 4:51 am

^ wait... so you're going all-in preflop because you want him to FOLD?!? that is the most backward shit ever.

you played this hand fine. bet the flop sometimes though, they'll float you with a lot of hands in this tournament.

You played it fine, there's not a lot you could have done. His raise from the 1st seat A2s was terribly loose, and he made a mistake calling your re-raise pre-flop. His post-flop betting was ok, and his call when your raised the flop was certainly justified--he had 6-1 odds to call with the nut flush draw. Those are the breaks, sometimes...he played terribly pre-flop and got rewarded for it.

first mistake PS and yes you played it fine.
blacksnake50 Nov 5, 2008 5:04 am
Not much you coulda done to get him off of top pair, flush draw. Just another bad beat for the blogs.
MichaelJoseph Nov 5, 2008 5:07 am
looks like he wasnt gonna lay the flush draw down no matter how it was played. standard hand. pretty sick tho.
freakyfish00 Nov 5, 2008 5:19 am
Its a hard beat
But I wouldnt fold that hand there
There arent many hands that have him behind and he has outs against those hands
Preflop I might have folded it but that depends on how u have been playing

looks like you played it right to me, just got unlucky there. Ask yourself, if you had played it slower, would you have foled on the river when the third spade came out? Probably not.
redsox62axe Nov 5, 2008 5:29 am
Well this should be enough to get me the pw's tomorrow....lol...and I seem to get jammed equally by stars and tilt...Peace

Say it ain't so. Another bad ace wins a pot it has no business being in. We were having a discusion about this very thing last night on here. Sucks man I know how it feels. In the long run you will make more money off of them than you will lose.

I think you played it just right. Mr. Ace-Deuce got lucky against you. I wouldn't consider his play to rank among the Ultimate Donk Plays that I've ever seen, but it certainly was loose pre-flop. Once he flopped top pair and nut flush draw he wasn't going to let it go. Tough beat, but that's the nature of the game.
