Constructive Critisism

Should I have gone all in prelop or raise more pre-flop? Sometimes I just dont think these donkeys would fold regardless of the amount I bet.

honestly dude you are drawin dead already you have no chance at the pot

unless he completely bricks I instafold AAAA obv

you have NO REDRAWS jus aces which are garbage

Hamburgers Nov 4, 2008 8:40 pm
lol... wow. What an awful response. First off you are not drawing dead. You don't "insta fold" AA on that garbage flop. He just played really really bad and got really really lucky. You played the hand fine, just got screwed
RufusHoward Nov 4, 2008 8:40 pm
i always fold a,a,a,a pretty much the only hand you will win on is if the board is like 3,3,3,x,x obv u have the best full if they dont have the 3. or like 3,3,3,3,x u obv have the best hand if they don't have the 3 again. but them scenarios aren't likely to happen so you should always fold 4 of a kind pre-flop.

At first I thought it was Omaha as well, but it just looks like the cards where repeated in a few spots.

I think that you played it just fine Paddy. You could have possibly raised more preflop, but you raised 8xbb so unless you push all in which early in a tournament is hard to do IMO.

Just bad luck.
Macgruder Nov 4, 2008 8:43 pm

you need to fix this blog... shows you as having 4 aces and the flop is like 5 cards....

I like to just push with AA early in the freerolls... later you can bet or even slow play

these comments have it all wrong, the game being played was holdem nl, not omaha the way he was showing us just made it look like omaha
PaddyWhacked Nov 4, 2008 8:44 pm
TY Hamburgers. The 4 aces is an obvious mistake. The ones who made the sarcastic response are the same players calling with the 6 2 suited.

well ithought this was an omaha game at first. dont know why you have all those cards poppin up. but anyway that is tough that you got called and out flopped. and you also went all in there which left you no chance to get away if you were wrong you have to have a get out plan for just about every hand. that is one that you should have just bet around 2/3's the pot. and then you could get the info you needed about your opponets hands. but gl in the future and play on my friend.
theman_mot Nov 4, 2008 8:50 pm

oh nm dude though tit was omaha loli saw 4 aces

you played right imo hard to put him on a 2

theman_mot Nov 4, 2008 8:52 pm
and fyi i wasnt bein sarcastic and id crush you in any game so relax homie
batman473 Nov 4, 2008 8:57 pm

you had ver little chance of your hand improving since you held all your own outs.. especially in omaha. all you had was 2 pair.. and his hand was just as good to see a flop with as yours... and probably even better since all your outs were in your hole

theman_mot Nov 4, 2008 8:57 pm

i think you kno you played it right you just didnt wanna call it omg again aces are cracked

esp when your in a freeroll and terrible play is all around you

players postin these blogs are soft imo you know you raised the perfect amount and got called and i bet you weere happy as hell too

well ya got outflopped and busto oh well next freeroll 15 mins lol

woffice Nov 4, 2008 8:58 pm
It's difficult to say right or wrong. Common sense says good play pre-flop. I think in the early rounds of a freeroll, it's important to limit your exposure. Going all-in post-flop was probably a bad idea: 1) Your were OOP, so if someone did squeak in with a 2, you were well behind; 2) You overbet the pot. That's generally considered a steal move and it doesn't give you any information. Betting is partially about information gathering. Yes, you were trying to drive out the competition. But you need to play a little protection early on. Keep the pot small; 3) As silly as it sounds, you only had a pair. And you didn't improve much on the flop.

I probably would have made a pot bet at that point and seen what my opponent did. If he went all-in, I'd have to make a decision. And I probably would have called. But there is something to be said for folding, even the best hand (which you didn't have post-flop), early on in a tournament. Wait to get into these kinds of battles until later on in the tourney. IMO
20_lb_stack Nov 4, 2008 9:16 pm
I'm alway cautious with a flopped pair on the board and early position. I might have actually checked instead of being so aggresive early.
