A POKER BLOG-9 PERSON SIT-N-Go System...

I have seen a few blogs asking for more poker related blogs be posted so I pulled this one up from my archive, hope some of you find it as useful as everyone else has.

I posted a system taught to me and many other railbirds by an Ex-Railbird, for playing 9 person Sit-N-Go's and 9 person sit-N-Go's only.This is as complete as I can make it, going back to the original version I was taught, with notes added from my personal experience playing the system.

It is NOT a typical poker skill method, and it all but totally disregards a lot of traditional poker skill sets.
What it does instead is to break these 9 person sit-N-Go's down to their basics. And by aggresively applying some very simple rules and statistics and creates a VERY HIGH chance of making money in these games day in and day out.
What this entire system is designed to do is simple and VERY straight forward, It has you play ONLY hands that you statistically should win, and has you getting most or all of your chips in on these hands and these hands alone. If you only risk chips in hands you have very good odds of winning, then statistically you WILL come out ahead on average.

let me be VERY CLEAR HERE: It does NOT claim you will win EVERY SINGLE GAME! in fact the very foundation of this system is that you will NOT win every game you play. What It has done so far for EVERY ONE I know of who that has actually followed it TO THE LETTER is produce positive results.VERY POSITIVE RESULTS!
I personally have made it to the money in OVER half of the games I have played using this system. and I have finished 1st in OVER half of the games I have moneyed in.....This result covers hundreds of games I have played using this system. The Original creator of this system has almost identical results as mine, over an even larger number of games played.

Note: To date, I have heard from dozens of players who have followed this system exactly and EVERYONE of them is reporting positive results ( They have made money) when their games are averaged out.


The System in a nut shell:Starting with 9 players
9-8 players remaining: YOU play ONLY the top 6 hands PRE-FLOP 10-10.J-J,Q-Q,K-K,A-A,and A-K ( see note on playing your blinds)
EVERY Time you are dealt one of these 6 hands you bet a minimum of 8x the Big Blind( if you only get the blinds at this point thats OK)
If someone raises your bet you re-raise 5x their bet, EVERY TIME!
Example if the BB is 20 and you are dealt pocket Q's you bet out8x20 for 160, if you are raised 100, you re-raise 5x 100 for 500

If you are playing one of the pairs 10-A, and the flop brings only one or no over cards then you PUSH ALL IN
If your playing A-K and catch one or more A-K on the flop PUSH ALL-IN
If you are NOT pushing all in, you are checking and folding. YOU DO NOT CHASE! PERIOD!

7-6 players remaining: you play the hands from above and you add 9-9,8-8,and A-Q
All other actions are the same, bets 8x, re-raises x5 ect.

5-4 players remaining: you play all hands from above and add 7-7,6-6,A-J,and A-10
Minimum bet is now 5x the Big blind and ANY Re-raise is ALL-IN

Note on your blinds: If you can see the flop from your BB without putting any more chips in, DO IT! It's free! If you are called on to add chips to the pot and DON'T have one of your starting hands FOLD! In your small blind, if EVERYONE before you has FOLDED and it is just you and the BB pay the other half of the blind to see the flop no matter what cards you have, The BB is playing any two cards because he has already paid to play them. If you can see the flop for a few chips it's worth it to see, If he raises, FOLD, If anyone else has called and you don't have one of your staring hands FOLD PERIOD!

Your in the money 3 players remaining: You have made your money back +, With the pressure off, it is time to win this thing.
You are going to open it up and open it up now!
From this point on you play ANY A, ANY K especially with a suited card, ANY SUITED CONNECTERS 3 or over,
ANY PAIR IS AN INSTANT ALL-IN
OVER BET EVERY HAND YOU PLAY, steal every chance you get, PUSH ALL-IN on ANY FLUSH DRAW POST FLOP!

Rule of thumb for heads up: Call ANY RAISE with ANY TWO CARDS that is less then 10% of your chip stalk
ANY HIGH PAIR or A-K, A-Q ALL-IN PRE FLOP PERIOD!


Thats it, thats EXACTLY what you do PERIOD, and you do exactly this every hand, every game,
Personal Note: I was VERY against the whole idea of ignoring every poker skill set I have ever been taught, but what I have personally found to be true is that, the tighter I stick to this EXACT system the better I do over a 10-20 game stretch, and the more I give in and second guess the system, change the betting, play hands not listed, what ever, the worse i do. I BELIEVE YOU NEED TO EITHER PLAY THIS SYSTEM PERIOD! OR PLAY USING ALL THE THINGS YOU HAVE BEEN TAUGHT, BUT DO NOT TRY TO MIX THEM! they are like oil and water, at best.

Finally: I strongly recommend that any one willing to try this system, start by finding the cheapest 9 person sit-n-go's they can PLAY MONEY IF POSSIBLE. and play at least 10-20 games sticking to every letter of this system. Then and only then , if it seems to work for you, go and try it at a more expencive table.
And I hope that everyone that does try it will please let us know exactly how it worked for you. And remember it only works over a string of games 10-20 or more and only if you stick to it exactly.
