Yes I make that call all day. Especially on the turn with 560 chips left. At worse you are up against a set but that doesn't really matter because you have outs to hit your straight, flush and royal. Even your A might be good.. you could have just had a king. He was low too.. it's just unfortunate he hit. But imo he needs to call there

With a royal flush drawon a non paired board, I would find it tough to lay it down in most spots.

good shove after the call and that guy shuld have folded rather risking that many chips early in a tourney.... more so after your turn shove and him still chasing.... a bad call on his part that was rewarded.... bottom line i think you played this well....perhaps a bit aggressive.....and a donk followed you on a draw the whole way. I see that a lot early on in mtt's....makes me want to sit out the first few rounds. I'll bet after the first break this hand would have folded to you after the flop or turn.....but then again.......

A royal flush draw after that flop and calling that bet of 500 after it from you... yeah he was going all in no matter what. would I make that call first or second?. Maybe I got outs lots of em. he had a little better then 1 out of 4 times to hit the river. and had committed himself with the big call. after the flop it was pretty much 50/50

I'm sorry if I was playing you and knowing as I do I would think twice. But I have made the call before and hit it's 50/50when it comes to the river card I think. Good luck next time Bro.

Preflop, you priced him in with a bet of only 200 chips. I know, I know. Nothing there and you want to build a pot.....but that's the risk you take.

After the flop, I am shoving with that draw ALL DAY LONG.

He does not know you have A-A and count the outs that he has. Besides, who among us is that good that they can read they are beaten and will fold a Royal Flush draw?

JAG_USMC Nov 3, 2008 9:58 pm
Daniel N. might have sniffed that out, but mere mortals make this call EVERY TIME!
JKravat Nov 3, 2008 10:21 pm
OK now for my input. In no way do I fold the AJd after that flop a matter of fact even though it was me betting the flop that strong I probably push allin to my raise on flop. It was a good play I just got unlucky on river.
lifeis2short0017 Nov 3, 2008 11:04 pm
b4 flop....you bet 4.5 times the big blind...in early position....that should tell him that his hand is no good right there....but fish only see their hand.... so ok he calls....now the flop comes.....with what he has and what he sees, he's probably going to ride it all the way anyway....like the pros state, you either going to win a small pot with the aa or lose a huge pot with them....so forget about him for a moment, look at your mistakes and try to work on those....once he called ok...you got em...but then the combination of board/loose player/position/and time in tournament should SLOW YOU DOWN...BETTING 500 KNOWING WHAT YOU KNOW ABOUT THIS PLAYER AND THE MAJORITY OF AGGRESSIVE/FISHY PLAYERS IN EARLY PARTS OF TOURNAMENTS/ IF HE HAS ANY DIAMOND YOU HAVE TO KNOW THAT YOUR GOING TO GET CALLED....LIKE THE OLD SAYING GOES.....DONT GO BROKE WITH 1 PAIR
ACardExpert Nov 3, 2008 11:12 pm

it was a tough beat but i was the first aces at that table to get cracked

smokeweedman in seat 6 lol

bigpoppaboats Nov 3, 2008 11:34 pm

If I make that call, it never hits, if they make it, it always does.

Yep, I feel your pain.

Burntaces Nov 3, 2008 11:37 pm
