maybe i am losing my touch

Nov 3, 2008 3:26 pm Report Abuse

good mourning everybody. I was going through some of my past findings in both online and live poker. I have come to one conclusion. Maybe i am losing my touch with no limit hold em. Every other game there is to play i have done very well in. 7 card stud, omaha, omaha high low, razz, 2-7 lowball 5 card draw even. but no limit hold em i have done very poorly in lately. Is it that i am spending all my time consentrating on all my other games that i am losing the no limit hold em touch? I even find myself at the casino playing omaha and not hold em. When i first started out it was all about no limit hold em. Am i just losing the magic touch? Thank you and have a great day take care

Do you find yourself going to the other games because you enjoy playing them more? If so thats OK. If not maybe it's just a slump or a bad run. Try changing things up a little or taking a break from NLHE for a while.

i enjoy just about every game as equal. It is like when i play no limit holdem the rug gets pulled out from under me every time can't get any traction. I know how to play every game and well just can't find the traction but limit hold em i also do well in so maybe it is just me

If possible, go back and look at your recent play on NLHE and see if you have picked up any bad habbits.

Doesnt matter man, if your successfull in other games then exploit it. Maybe your forte is not No limit but Omaha or whatever, i say pound the games you are good at!

You are not losing your touch, you are gaining it ! A well rounded player will make more money than someone who typically only plays one game, even if they play really well !

Hold 'em brought you to poker, but it is only one game of many, and everyone needs to find where they have the most success, and fun playing ! This includes; Game, format, structure, and price, you line them all up in your comfort zone, and profit comes easier !

...play on ....Tc.....

i think i know what you are talkin about. I used to be TOP NOTCH at no limit holdem. Unfortunately i got bored of it, took a break, then to come back feeling like a total fish. You gotta keep practicing to maintain a great skill.

Actually I find no limit holdem the least interesting game. I much prefer any of the stud games to hold'em, but hold'em get the play so I play tournaments and SNG's. I've been playing mainly limit stud games for cash lately and find the play is much more profitable or at least doesn't have the same size swings as Hold'em.

i can still play no limit hold em very well I think though it is just the bad string of cards i have. The last 4tournaments i have played in I have these hands i record all my hands i play and been knocked out QQ against A-5 offsuit A-A against A-J and pocket K twice against Q-J and 9-10 off suit everyone puts their money in bad and wins and i get snake bit again for making the right play every time

I don't want to sound like a complainer bc i am not at all. I am just stating facts and those are the facts. Sure i have played my share of bad hands in my day and have gotton lucky. Everyone does that. maybe this is god's way of punishing me now LOLOLOLOLOL
