So then I typed in the chat box...

"I'll never play the soap opera freeroll again."

I was played the freeroll Sunday morning and the chatter, was unbelievable. I normally don't say much while playing BUT I do usually enjoy the banter that goes on in most of the Railbird freerolls. Observers railing friends, clan members supporting one another, the normal good natured ribbing's that happens. However after yesterdays chatter at several tables I'm tempted to just shut of chat completely.

First the accusations by observers that a player at my table is a password thief, then he's a banned member and playing anyway. The player protest that he is a member just doesn't have screen name listed. This goes on from the observers while I'm trying to play. Several times the accusations were made but it appears the player IS a bird, just as he said all along.

Next up the observers start fussing about whether another player is ranked and banned or maybe not banned but cant sign on and about how the pro rail play favorites. This player was not at my table and the conversations went on for at least 15 minutes. I just haven't seen this level of background chatter on any event I've played.

So I guess my point is this, we all want to be Railbirds, but our activities shouldn't negatively impact the game they are watching. If I turn my chat off, I'll miss the camaraderie that should come with a Railbirds event. and I don't want to do that. So next time you are railing, remember it's the game you are watching that is important, it's not to air any grievences you might have.

right on, i second that motion. And IF you can't find players in the railbird search and NEED to make a comment about it make it unnamed. Example: Could the players who's names i didn't find at railbirds either please update their profile or register at our great community" you still get some verbal abuse i noticed but you keep the outside accusations to a minimum

btw, i would have made the listing of your screenname on railbirds obligated to enter their tourny's, just to avoid things like that

this site is getting ridiculous with all this freeroll bs. all the accusations are totally uncalled for. everyday this site is a little more like high school and not the good parts.
