What do you think about Turbo's?

Nov 2, 2008 6:53 pm Report Abuse

Turbo tournaments for me are hard to play. I like to play a more patient game. Because the blinds move up so fast...these things sometimes feel like wild shootouts. Any thoughts? Anyone develop a great strategy for playing them they would like to share?

turbo's are good if your in a hurry. like u, i like the slower ones, but they can be a pain as well. gl 2 u. remember in turbo's, u can outlast alot of people sometimes because it is a turbo. Lots of luck!!!

I play them the same way as I do other tournaments. Patient and tight. If everybody is thinking that they have to play otherwise then they knock each other out and I make the money. Don't need to play them scared and change good poker fundamentals.

No great strategy yet, but trying to come up with one. I play a lot of turbo SNG's. The only thing I can say is you have to be aware of the blinds and adjust your play based on the size of your chip stack.

Get involved early in the tournament, you have to build your stack early to be able to go thrue the blinds later and pick up the desperate all ins

If it's at night and I don't want to play a 6 hour tournament, sometimes the turbo can be fun. It's more of a risky tournament, you have to play more hands, make more moves, but they can be fun to mix in.

I hate them and avoid them like the plague. I like the patient aspect of poker. I've got time.

I like the double or nothing turbos you can make the money only winning 2 or 3 hands. patience is key
