yep, try the hair dryer, might start working for a while...then when it stops working completely call your insurance company, and try not to get mad when they start laughing, cuz it's probably a worthless policy like most are....
good luck.
If you are confident that water got throughout the electronics, you should have taken the battery out and then poured rubbing alcohol over the thing. The alcohol displaces the water and it will evaporate very vast. as opposed to water which just sits there for days. Here is the key and I dont know if you will get this in time. but DONT try turning it on for at least 3 days. If you turn it on, and the water is on the leads still, it will short out instantly. the other problem is that with a voyager touch screen, there is alot of places for the water to just rest. A hairdryer is useful, but honestly If you really want to save your phone, the longer you can wait to turn it back on, the better chance you have of saving it.
All I can say is to take it apart (remove the battery and SIM, if your phone uses SIM's) and let the air get too it. I'd be careful about using a hair drier as the heat may be more than the phone can stand. Just let it sit and try it in the morning.
If it doesn't start working, take it back to where you bought it before contacting the insurance company... they may be willing to work with you to get it fixed or replaced. I had one start acting funky on me after I got it wet, the phone company employee I dealt with handled the exchange for me there, didn't even have to deal with the insurance, who would probably try to find a way to say that they don't have to replace it since it was dropped in water.
I also know someone who dropped their phone, insurance said that they didn't cover water damage, but ended up replacing his phone as he said that he didn't drop it in water....it was a Rum and Coke. But, I wouldn't count on that one working for everyone. hehe
Crikey. HATE it when me off button won't work anymore. lol
But I think once you "dismantle" a phone - you have voided the warranty?
DONT TURN IT ON TILL ITS DRY!!!! If you already have then i say its finished, what a bummer, i have dont that too
