Why I don't say NH or GG

Oct 24, 2008 10:38 pm Report Abuse

There are a few reasons why I may not say NH at the tables. First reason is cause it wasn't a nice hand, in my belief. And since I am polite at the table I am not going to typed "well played idiot", therefore I will just not type anything. Second I am rarely playing only one game, if I am not in the hand maybe I didn't see your nice hand, if I don't see it I can't comment on it. Third some days I just don't feel like chatting so I don't. And sometimes nobody is chatting on the table at all so I just don't type anything.

As for GG, well not all games are good. If you get knocked out on the first hand or shortly thereafter was it really a GG? And if my AA gets cracked by 2,3 offsuit then chances are I am closing the table before I even get a chance to type anything. There is also the fact that if the table is broken up immediately then I don't have time to type GG even if it was. And I don't like to type gg unless I am sure the person is out.

There that is why I don't always type NH or GG. However if you are happy with your game and your play why do you need me to validate it?

Why do you avoid the nh or gg in a game? Let's hear your reasons folks.

i like to chat on the table, saying nh will help lighten up the mood. When i had fun on the table i will say GG because i mean it, if it was a shitty table i don't comment

I was almost ready to write a more detailed blog about this very subject. If you belive in variance, we are ALL going to get our share of those great hands - it's just a matter of what we DO with them that counts. If someone types in their hand into the IM window and them mucks hoping they made a great laydown; it is found to be true then telling someone that they made a smart laydown THAT'S a major accomplishment that anyone should be proud of. Or, If they get me to laydown the best hand and they show their bluff then THAT too derserves praise for excellent play.

Thanks for starting the conversation about this!

Cheers! Alan Chiras.

I also like to say NH or GG for multiple reasons. One it gets me engaged with the table rather than surfing the net or something. Second it helps me to keep from saying something nasty when something nasty happens to me. LOL Thirdly poker for me in part is a social activity. Trust me I want win but I like to have fun while doing it.

I fdon't chat much and usually only in the freerolls if the table is chatty. I GG somebody that I think HAS played well if I've set with them for a while. I figuire you know if you had a nh or not without my comment. I will type ty most everytime, but find anyone that nh's every hand annoying.

eh, some people dont deserve a "nh" or "gg". I try to avoid the chatbox as much as possible anyway.
