I've received a few Private Messages asking what the idea behind "Pay-It-Forward" really was. So I decided that it was time to revisit an older blog I wrote. Unfortunately I delete all my blogs when I feel that the message has gotten across or there is no longer a reason to use Railbirds limited server space to store them, so I have to redo this from scratch.
The world sucks today. All everyone ever thinks about is themselves. If we could all do one thing to change it, what would we do...........
From the Movie, Pay It Forward:
A school social studies assignment leads to social changes that spread from city-to-city. Assigned to come up with some idea that will improve mankind, a young boy (Haley Joel Osment) decides that if he can do three good deeds for someone and they in turn can "pay it forward" and so forth, positive changes can occur. What appears to initially be a failure, is indeed a success that is not immediately known but is traced backwards by a reporter who is a benefactor. The initial recipients of the boy are a drug addict (James Cavaziel), his badly scarred school teacher (Kevin Spacey), and a classmate who is constantly bullied by his peers. While physically and mentally scarred by past events, the teacher is not the only one bearing scars. The young boy fears his mother's fate, particularly at his brutal, alcoholic father's (Jon Bon Jovi) hands.
Like some other kids, 12-year-old Trevor McKinney believed in the goodness of human nature. Like many other kids, he was determined to change the world for the better. Unlike most other kids, he succeeded.
Three imperfect people. One perfect idea.
Sometimes The Simplest Idea Can Make The Biggest Difference.
Have You Heard?
When someone does you a big favor, don't pay it back... Pay It Forward
Some favours you are not allowed to pay back.
Is it possible for one idea to change the world?
A movie from the heart that connects with the heart.
#1 It has to be something that really helps people. #2 Something they can't do by themselves. #3 I do it for them, they do it for three other people. These are the rules when you pay it forward.

We have people here who Pay-It-Forward on a regular basis. We write strategy blogs, we teach others to make custom tables, we stake a person to a tournament they otherwise wouldn't be able to play, we respond to the "Railers needed" call with enthusiasm, we offer prayers when loved ones are in danger or pain, and we never ask anything in return but that you "Pass it on to the next guy."
These people are
and deserve some recognition for the help they give the community. When we host the PIF tournaments, some (prorails, the PIF Krew, Astrogini, A55A55IN, and a few others) get an automatic entry because it's EVIDENT the help they give. Others need to be nominated by a person they've helped. This is why "my buddy Joe has to play" isn't the right way to nominate a person, but something like "I nominate Fuzzable because she is always there railing as many of her Railbird friends in not only Railbird tourneys, but every other tourney she can possibly rail. She shows unbridled support for her friends here and always keeps a positive attitude. Her name on FullTilt is fuzman44. " IS an appropriate nomination.
Does that answer your question?

This is a big reason as to why I'm involved with a world-wide community service club. I can't tell you how full my heart feels when I do something with the club. When someone told me tonight (during one of our big fund raisers) that he thought we did really great things for the city/community, I just about broke down into tears.
I only wish I had time and energy to do more.
Thank-you for the work the Krew is doing on this. It is definitely something positive for this site.
I once had to pay a toll on a Sunday coming home from work one day. The woman at the toll booth told me the person paid my toll and to tell me "May God Bless You"... I turned around and did the same thing. I paid for the toll behind me and hoped that God blessed them too. (I'm not a Bible banger but I am a Christian). What a nice unexpected and possitive chain that brought on. A little thing like that made my day and made me want to make somebody elses
So back at you and God bless!
There is way more satisfaction in giving, then there ever will be in recieving !

Thank you again for the reminder Pay it forward people...is a gr8 concept!
I often save comments and blogs by copy/paste to notepad and then can bring them back when I want to review. save paper and space.
On giving and receiving... is a principle we often forget. In not graciously accepting the gift ....the giver loses the blessing and of course the reciever has lost the blessing by negative attitude. Have you ever received a gift and just put it on the shelf unopened? Well that is essentially what you are doing by not paying it forward.. I used to get mad at people who would say praise the Lord or thankyou God when they would get something and I would think what about thanking the person who gave it to you? I used to cringe at that, but then I had a change of heart....most people who give from the heart give it and let it go....do not need thanks. Is so good to rethink these things again ty pay it forward gl
I believe in "do for others and you would want done for you!" excellent blog for the whole railbird community. If more of us would pitch in, this will spread like wildfires. What a great community of people and im proud to be a member.
The satisfaction in giving is so much more a reward than recieving so that giving and recieving become one. YOu cannot know how much you have to give until you give it and in the giveing becomes the proof of having so that giving and recieving become one. You must give to recieve.
I so commend the Pay it Forward as this is the only way to save yourself and the world. WE must give to recieve , the only thing missing from any situation is that which you have not brought to it.
People give in any way they can and all should be acclaimed. TY Pay It Forward for that.
There is no other way, there is no other time, NOW we must do what we can for each other!!!
TY , TY , TY and again I say Thank You !!!
