Okay, I'm getting kinda of tired reading blogs about people being password thieves, so I composed a plan to help try to stop this from happening. This may or may not work- so hear me out before you start flapping your jaws in the comment section.
- Orangize a team of 4 or 5 railbirds to go around to all of the freeroll tables and ask for the participants Railbirds names. If your a true railbird, you will gladly submit your name to be checked.
- The 4 or 5 railbirds checking goes into the railbirds chat and is assigned which table they need to check. This is simply done to make sure a table isn't checked multiple times, so we don't pestor the true railbirds here to have fun.
- If the player fails to tell the person(s) checking there railbird name, they're PS or FT name will be submitted to a prorail to check. Hopefully, atleast one of the prorails will go along and work with us.
- If the person is not a railbird, a prorailer is informed and can submit there site name to PS or FT for entering the tournament illegally. Not a 100% sure if the site will repremand them, but it's worth the try anyways. Or possibly contact one of the site moderators, might be another option.
- Also, if there not a railbird, we ask them where they got the password from. This might help us narrow down the people giving it away.
What we'd like to happen by doing this for a while or so, is that the word spreads they we are investigating the problem of people stilling our passwords. The people giving out the passwords to other sites see us doing this and they become nervous and stop giving it away. If they are caught giving away the passwords to our tourneys, they be banned from railbirds. If they come back with a different name, and try it again, well..there just gonna get caught again and eventually they will give up. Besides, they're out numbered. You can't go to war with an army of 100 against an army of 1000, right?
So, if anyone interested in trying to do this..let me know. Also, if any prorails would join us in the manhunt, that would be greatly appreciated. Like I said before, this may or may not work. But, if we get organized in our effort to stop it, there's a good possibility that it will.
Good Luck at the Tables everyone.

Even if you find a thief then what can you do about it ? Its highly unlikely hes going to be a member of the forum if hes a thief so you cant exactly ban him.
The sites wont do anything, they frankly dont give a damn.
The problem isnt the thieves, its the low lives off here who are revealing the passwords. Thats what you need to address
And they are not going to tell you where they get the passwords from. To think they might is naiive...
The fact is, you either change the way the passwords are released or even better remove the passwords altogether and do a login system on the forum, or you approach FT and PS, explain the problem and see if they will allow it whereby the prize money has to be claimed on here first before it is released.
If people cant get the prize money they wont bother taking part.
I also came up with another suggestion, and thats to release a dummy fake password a couple of times.
The prorails issue a fake password then about half an hour before the tournament they send out the real one.
You only need to do this a few times and the thieves will get sick of having to go back to their original source to find out if the new password is out.
This is a free site, and its not all that hard to get the password once you join. There will always be someone that will try to steal the PW. The only way to keep banned players or nonrailbirds out of tourneys is to do tickets, i assume this may have been discussed and investigated as an avenue. so there really isnt much we can do other than beat them and stop whining that non birds are in our tourneys
I have said for a while that the entry requirements to gain access to the passwords are too easy to achieve. Its basically turn up, post any old crap and you get them.
You should not get the passwords for logging on and saying "Hi, I love poker please give me the passwords". It should be far more strict than that.
There is a grading system on this site. Why not use that system and say that you cannot gain access to the freerolls until you have passed the first grading level. You would cut down the numbers in a matter of days. That has many benefits.
1) Reduced fields means the prize money doesnt have to stretch between so many players and therefore getting into the money is worthwhile. Why play for three hours to win $0.10..
2) New members would have to be actively involved in the site to gain access. Of all those members that get the passwords, how many are actually active on a regular basis. I would bet very few. The serious railbirds skip the FR and go for the buy in games simply because its just not worth the hassle to take part in a FR to win a few cents.
3) It makes the task of finding out who is releasing them easier because theres less people who have access to them.
I was under the impession that freerolls are meant to be a reward to those that are members. Not a way of attracting new people to the site. If you want to attract new members then why not give out one freeroll each week with the password freely available to anyone who visits the site then advertise that there are other freerolls available if they wish to join the site and become active members. Reward them for what they do for the forum. Not reward them first then ask them to take part.
THERE ARE SITES FOR THE THEIVES AND THEY DONT CARE IF ONE GETS CAUGHT THEY KEEP COMING. If you want the password on those sites to be wrong well thats another story like hitting them with 1000+ random posts and drive there mods nuts well thats up to you as Im banned from most of the thief sites for driving there mods up the wall also sending 1 email even 5 seconds off all different ISPs LOL and oh yah I got the bookstores ISP blocked aswell for the same thing
I said this ages ago.
Bombard the site in question. Get each RB to register then give out a fake PW.
Their mods would soon stop anyone posting RB passwords because it would be more hassle than its worth to allow them. THey would never know which ones were real and which werent until some of their members have used up all their credits getting the wrong passwords.
All the other forums have managed to get their PW stopped from being posted on that site. Its about time this site followed suit. And if they wont stop them being posted when we ask them nicely, then go about it in other ways ie sabotage their site until they realise its more hassle than its worth.
How about when people are switched tables? Are they going to be asked two or three times if they are railbirds?
The thief sites already know that we have people submitting false pw's. This is done a couple of times a week to the thief sites.
Those sites have people monitoring us just like we have people monitoring them. One of them is probably reading this blog as I type.
The prorails are working on a solution. They are as frustrated as we are.
Good ideas though.
Oh , by the way, you can go to war with an army of 100 against 1000. It took just 100 U.S Army Special Forces to throw the Taliban from power by using force multipliers.

the people who steal the passwords suck at poker, so take advantage of them in the meantime. In a perfect world the pokersites (FT and PS) will punish those that enter private tournies which are not for them... it aint a perfect world by far.
I have taken this from another thread started today.
That, to be honest is why you are getting the problem.
Upload a picture, write "Hi, I am johny, I love poker" and hey presto the password is yours.
Thats all of what, five minutes work at the very most.
Cardschat stiffened up their requirements and within a day they went from 1200 each time to less than 100. That should tell you something.
You stiffen up the requirements to gain access to the PW and you will find that the problem is halved instantly.
You can then follow it up by setting up a system whereby anyone who hasnt posted at least 10 times in a month is taken off the list of people eligible. That then makes sure they have to keep posting.
If you want to stop the PW getting out, then make it harder for any Tom Dick or Harry to get access to them.
You leave it as easy as it is, and you'll never solve the problem.
