Poker Coach Software??

Oct 17, 2008 4:06 am Report Abuse

Any railbirds use a coaching program to help improve their game? I'm looking for something that has good drills finding partial outs, hidden outs, and redraws and the like. I realize that once you can recognize these situations they occur again and again and you won't have to re-calculate repeatedly. But it would be fantastic if exercises speeding it along that came with glowing recommendations and enthusiastic testimonials from trusted railbirds were revealed here in comments following this blog. The ones I searched were so so. Some looked promising and others looked like downright cheesy ripe offs. That's it, please share if you know, Sly.

No not to cheat. Drills is the emphasis. I'm working on my game and it is improving greatly. I would like recommendations on proven software to improve it even more . This is not to be used during play. I'm sure some are familiar with such programs.

At the risk of sounding course, why do you feel you need waste money on such a thing ? To find the number of outs you have is easy, partial and hidden shouldn't count in your decision making, and redraws should be readily reconizeable as soon as the flop comes out ! I just don't understand the need for such a program, just play man, just play !

If you want practice, sit down at the table with a deck of cards, and deal yourself two, and then throw a flop out, think each thing thru, and do it again, and again, and again, until you reconize these things automatically !

I like that idea Topcat, very nice. But they are "hidden" outs ya know. But I know I know your old school. I remember some comments you have made Pokerchixs' blog about software that counted outs for ya while playing. Heck I have the demo she recommended. Only works on play money and I never use it. The drills are what I want. But a good old deck of real cards will do fine. Great idea. BTW, I recommend 100% plastic card from Vegas playing cards. You can find em at wally world. Even though I hate that place, but thats another blog. Thx Topcat.

Good luck on that! I've found it easier to just play and learn by your mistakes!
