I never call an all in with QJ they just look nice

not much you coulda done about that 99 because you were allready in it but 99 is easy to beat 250 chips you coulda also let them go your were in it but not pot comited and it was lucky for him 99 has costed me chips too many times in sngs they just dont hold up

hey if you dont like my answear then dont ask all of us lol just kidding better luck next time

Yes, you played pretty badly imo. Why would you call 6x the BB with QJ, not a good idea, especially with 4 people left ot act behind you. The fact that you got lucky on the flop and then someone else sucked out on you doesn't make me feel sorry for you, you shouldn't have called in the first place. You had horrible position being UTG+1 and QJ shouldn't be played 7 handed unless maybe you're stealing the blinds. And raising out of the big blind with 99? that's an extremely questionable/bad idea, you're just setting yourself up for tough decisions post flop. My advice to you is to tighten way up and learn about position and how to play from the different positions, because those two concepts might be the most important in poker.

My comment might be harsh, but your strategy really needs to improve.
Aeijip Oct 14, 2008 6:44 pm
in tha first hand i think the indicator was when the person bet on the king the straight was there u needed another j or q and odds low mayb given the cards turned and in the second hand a nine would o been nice
BlueBomber88 Oct 14, 2008 6:46 pm
The first one: probably not a great idea to play with QJ, since there are TOO many ways to be dominated. The second, well... I can't really find a problem with it... honestly. Since you got 99 and you're getting good odds, unless he has an overpair, you should play with it.
SpubFT Oct 14, 2008 6:48 pm
too much to call with QJ first hand.. Second hand other guy got lucky gg.
astrogini Oct 14, 2008 6:49 pm
I've already given you my thought on the first hand... I wouldn't have called the all in preflop.. but the rest of the hand was played fine, since you did call. You were just unlucky.

As to the 2nd hand:

You had someone try to limp and then went over the top of you... without even knowing what they have I would think my 9s weren't good and folded. Sure he could have been making a play, BUT... are you willing to risk basically your tournament life, early on, on a pair of 9s?

If it's later on in the tournament and you're becoming short-stacked then certainly push with them, but.. too early in the tournament and you don't know your opponents well enough to make that call right there.

My two cents.
slavocash Oct 14, 2008 6:49 pm
99 in that situation is either play for set value i.e. limp in and get out unless a 9 hits the flop, so i would have just checked it and seen a free flop, you are in horrible position, and that will make your decision to raise unprofitable.
mastrop24 Oct 14, 2008 6:53 pm
Looks like you werent really reading the board that well on the first hand, I mean yeah you have 2 pairs but theres a straight draw, and a good flush draw going on out there. I just dont think you were reading that to well, no biggie we all learn from our mistakes. The second hand I dont see anything wrong dude raised all in with A rags and jeapordized his tourney life on nothing, just got lucky. Thats a bad beat lol. But you miss play every hand dont you Rhyno, lmao. J/K GL man
holdin2s Oct 15, 2008 12:35 pm

first hand: I would not have called an allin with those

second hand: I would of rather limped hoping to trap someone There is less of a chance he would have gotten so pushy if you would of limped, instead of raised

IpsoFatso Oct 15, 2008 1:17 pm
First hand fold preflop, simple. You don't have to try and take everyone out. But your paly on the flop perfect!

Second Hand:
Just unlucky.

Hand 1- i believe you shouldnt have been in this hand to start with. FOLD

Hand 2- you got beat in a race. The villian probally shouldnt have been in the hand. With his reraise, I would have put him on a painted pocket pair, and would have folded at this time and save your chips for a comeback.
