THE TWO CONCEPTS OF SEMI-DIVINITY
or
RULES TO LIVING A LING LIFE
1. Don't Worry About It.
2. Mind Thine Own Business
Don't Worry About It - Doesn't mean don't DO anything about it, whatever IT is. It just means don't worry. Worry leads to stress and high stress levels lead to death according many research studies.
Mind Thine Own Business - Does not mean don't know other peoples business (Ask people not to be curious?! You might as well try to herd cats!!) it just means MIND IT. Keep your @#$%ing trap SHUT! Loose lips sink ships and all that jazz. If you don't Mind Thine Own Business you can create enemies. Enemies lead to worry......see Rule #1 above for the meaning of THAT! Also enemies can take more.......direct action. So the fewer enemies you have the better.
A few tips to help you on your way to being "Semi-Divine"
Your enemy is never a villain in his own eyes. Keep this in mind; it may offer a way to make him your friend.
---Lazarus Long (From "Time Enough for Love" by Robert A. Heinlein)
What are the facts? Again and again and again -- what are the facts? Shun wishful thinking, ignore divine revelation, forget what "the stars foretell," avoid opinion, care not what the neighbors think, never mind the unguessable "verdict of history" -- what are the facts, and to how many decimal places? You pilot always into an unknown future; facts are your single clue. Get the facts!
---Lazarus Long (From "Time Enough for Love" by Robert A. Heinlein)
Speak softly and carry a big stick; you will go far.
--- Theodore Roosevelt
Speak softly and carry a big stick
i do that every day

Who the hell is this crap for? You arrogant SOB!
(I'll have ghouda...thx)
Ill bring the wine....
And never EVER share Ted's advice with your 10yr old son and his pals (who are being bullied by a kids twice their size) without fully explaining it, for when you do...
Those little boys take it quite literally, go to the building site across from the park, dirty up there little white faces, grab the biggest pieces of lumber they can lift, wait VERY quietly for the bullies to show up - then come out roaring like crazed soldiers pouring out of a trench and into battle....Then come home ready to burst with pride and tell you how well your advice worked. 'Umm, ummm, well guys it's great you stood up to them but well ummm'... To this day I'm grateful no-one ended up with a permanent head injury.
Be careful what you say and who you say it to
.
Sounds like something I would have done.....
When I was 5 and in kindergarten my "teacher" told me to "glue yourself in that seat!"
So I went and grabbed the Elmer's.........
