party poker "random number generator"

Oct 13, 2008 8:55 pm Report Abuse

Is it just me, or is party poker's "random number" card generator skewed to the underdog in an "all-in" situation?

I try not to be pessimistic, but I have suffered one TOO many badbeats on this site, particularly in "all-in" situations...Any comments from other players?

Also along the same lines, I play a Canadian gaming site where there seems to be a "propensity" for the ace of spades to drop on the board a highly disproportionate amount in relation to the "random" amount it should flop...And for the bonus question, Can someone tell me which Canadian Poker site I am talking about?(50 points)...

My advice? Stop going all-in so much. I see this all the time online...players getting it all in early (preflop and on the flop) because they think they have the best hand and then complaining when they bet a bad beat. Remember, AA is only 60-40 to win preflop!

Sorry, but you need to show stats. What "seems" to happen is people forget their wins and suckouts and remember the beats. Do you even know how many times the As should hit the flop in say -10000 flops? No? Then how would you know if it is hitting more or not? If your always looking for the As then you will remember it. How many times has the A of hearts hit?

As someone who uses Party Poker quite a bit, the simple fact is its not the computer program, its the people playing. There are far too may donks on there and they will call with absolutely anything. No matter what their stack, position. THey havent got a clue..

Thats why the best thing is to avoid all ins unless you have the absolute nuts or as near as dammit.

Play alot tighter and you watch things chance.

Another rigged thread, god help us. OP, nobody can answer your question, and speculation is a waste of bandwidth. If you had stats over 10,000 hands, it might be worth discussing. Otherwise your bad beat whine is just one of millions... I agree with others also, you may have all-in fever, an online affliction, and are AGAIN blaming the site. Boring please stop it.

'Remember, AA is only 60-40 to win preflop!'

I'll have to remember that..... I was pretty sure it was an 87% fav. over any two random cards? AND even in a 5-way pot it is still better than 50% to win over 4 random hands (although it's close).

I actually see sooooo many Railbirds saying to not get it allin preflop or on the flop. Actually there are many, many times where this is absolutely necessary.

The Canadian site you are referring to is 'Poker In Canada'. Been awhile since I was on there.. .pretty sure that's the name of it? Being from Canada I thought it'd be cool to check it out. I thought wrong.. I don't like it at all. On more than one occassion, when I'd won a big pot, I got moved to another table and my chips from the big pot got left behind?? (no my hand wasn't beat.. it was a glitch in their program). Of course I wrote to support each time it happened to me (it was only in a couple freerolls). THeir response, "yes we have experienced the occassional glitch when a player gets moved to another table but we can assure you that this won't happen when playing in a cash buy-in tournament".. what?.. .that sounded ludicrous. Maybe things have gotten better there now?? I prefer to go with the big names for online poker.

As far as the As goes... try playing 3-8 on Fulltilt (3rd-8blk) connects with the flop 34% of the time (imagine that), and have had it win for me 75% of the time.

is tiltaholic saying he beats AA 75% of the time with 83?

That is simply not true

I think this is one of the sites that actually have a bad beat jackpot thing. So if it is a bad beat you should be getting payed!!!

I don't think us players can play there anymore. I kinda like the idea of having a bad beat jackpot...
