Not much you can do there, except not slow play your aces. It is very tempting to do so, but this just proves that it can backfire. I would think villain is folding 56 off to a raise, although you never know. After the flop, though, you can't do much, you had the best hand at the time but he fired all in, and this is a snap call for me with AA. Unfortunately he hit one of his 9 outs on the turn, and sucked out on you. Better luck next time.

I had a similar thing happen to me the other day, when I was short stacked on the bubble in a tourney, and I was trying to make a move - I limped my SB with AA, hoping the BB would raise me, which he had done a couple other times I limped in the SB. But this time he just checked, flop came Q 10 rag, I shoved the rest of my chips in, BB called with K 10, turn was another ten and I'm out on the bubble. I'm not sure if the villain in my hand wouldn't have called a preflop shove anyway, but by limping in, I sealed my fate.

I would have personally threw out a pre-flop raise.. there's not guarantee that he wouldn't have called you but at least he wouldn't have see a cheap flop.

I would have thrown out a pre-flop raise as well, and as tough as it is with that flop I would have folded the AA. he may or may not have folded to a pre-flop raise but chances are he never would have folded after the flop.
