DtownGirl Oct 12, 2008 3:39 am
did u report him to a prorail??
Evenstar Oct 12, 2008 3:43 am

had someone come to my table wanting pw no one gave it to him. Hmmmmmmmm

PlayedYou73 Oct 12, 2008 3:50 am
won't do anything even if he is banned from RB..he'll just get the pw from a password sharing site and still get into the freerolls..same outcome..
Pike60 Oct 12, 2008 3:55 am
McSweg came to my table and pointed out the pw beggar and someone at the table had the nerve to say 'so what?'.

Nothing like a RB sticking up for the thief over the FELLOW RB !!!

Whoever gave the pw out should be reported to a prorail.
ButtonDog Oct 12, 2008 4:03 am
Full Tilt won't do anything, but report them to chat abuse anyway. If they keep having to answer e-mail from people reporting people asking and sharing the passwords they may soon do something because it cost them money everytime they have to respond to a nonissue for them.
unicornsmith Oct 12, 2008 4:11 am
as railbirds we all need to make sure we dont share any pws to anyone asking on the tables.we all know some people will get in because they know someone in it.but if all railbirds would not give out pws on tables all would be better.theres no way to stop it so we have to live with pw thieves.

Report, report, report, and don't lose patience. This war isn't going to be won over night. It may take another two years before the Poker sites cooperate with the private tournaments and start banning crashers. They have a choice of taking the side of paying customers that put up the money for the freerolls or take the side of freeloaders that have never deposited a dime to their site.
McSweg Oct 12, 2008 4:21 am

thx pike

it wa a pw thief that gave him the pw not much we can do.

we should attempt 2 do someting like cardschat they only give pw 2 members that have posted 50 quality blogs that soon stops all the cheats they went from same number of players of ours 2 200 ish just shows how many people actually use it for just getting pws

I think that the site in question needs to have pressure putting on them.

If PW from the other forums ie cardschat, ixgames, suitedpockets etc are posted on there then its an instant ban.

How come that site stops their passwords but not this ones ?

The other problem is that its too easy to get the password on here. You only need to post a blog or two and you get them.

Secondly, the passwords are revealed far too early. You cannot register till an hour before hand anyway, so why release them three hours in advance. Why not post them with say half an hour to go. It will give the password thieves less time to spread them amongst friends.

Finally, people say FT and PS cant do anything. They sure as hell can, and they should..

This site provides them with lost of revenue via the many tournaments which are run by this forums members. If they arent prepared to stop the thieves then surely the threat of removing them from our partner list unless they do something will be enough for them to act.

They can ban thieves or suspend their accounts. Its not hard.

I would do the following if it were my forum.

1) Make it harder to qualify for passwords in the first place

2) release them later and closer to the start of the tournament

3) Put pressure on FT and PS to come up with a workable solution

4) Put pressure on the main PW sharing site and get them to ban the spread of this forums passwords on their site.

5) Try a dummy. You release a password which is incorrect, deliberately. The thieves will reveal that on their sites, and then later on release the proper one to the members on here. By that time there are many very unhappy thieves who have been trying the wrong password. You do that a few times and watch the sites stop sharing them.

If that doesnt work then the only option is for people to register on this site and not via the poker sites themselves. If you stop the use of passwords altogether you stop the problem.

ButtonDog Oct 12, 2008 4:55 am
Fcumred, that site has been asked by railbirds to stop posting our passwords and they have stated that they will never stop posting railbird passwords. They have even stated that they want to ruin passwords.

The people running that site are ex railbirds that were banned here and what's funny is that they won't allow their members to do the exact same things that they were banned from railbirds for doing.
ButtonDog Oct 12, 2008 4:57 am
Meant to say they have stated that they want to ruin railbird freerolls.
Fcumred Oct 12, 2008 5:06 am

Perhaps then its time to stop getting mad and start getting even.

I posted about this before.

Why not just get all our members to register with that site and then post fake passwords.

It wont take long before they get fed up with having to sort through hundreds of fake passwords just to find the real one

McSweg Oct 12, 2008 5:12 am

it just bitter folk

good points all

GoldenGirl Oct 12, 2008 5:41 am

Ya know red, I suggested the same thing about a 'sting' game. But, co-ordinate it between RB Pros and FTP...a fake game and a fake PW given on the hacker site. Then for all who sign up for the fake game...FTP has em right there.

The only way they would have the PW is from the hacker site. So, one big swoop .. ban them from FTP...but they won't if they have cash accounts with FTP..

So, oh well. Good Blog tho. G

Buttondog, you addressed the idea about approaching the site, and thats fair comment. If they wont play ball they wont.

But what about the other ones.

Firstly its too easy to qualify on here for the PW. Far too easy. People are registering and within a day or so they are eligible for the PW. You ban them on monday, they are back by wednesday and posting the PWs again by thursday.

Again I re-iterate, the passwords are revealed far too early. Why release them three hours before the event when they cant be used for two hours anyway because you cannot register on the sites till an hour before the tourney starts.

You give people three hours to spread a password around and before you know it the entire poker world knows it. Give them less time and they have less time to spread it around.

One site doesnt release their PW till five minutes before the event. They dont have half the problem. Neither does Roundersradio who only release theirs half an hour before the event.

Three hours is far far too long and its not necessary. Simply because for two hours that password is worthless anyway.

One other idea, and this is contraversial, is to limit the number of players.

The way that site works, they have to have credits to see the passwords. People are not going to use those credits up only to find that the freeroll is full up.

The people who are leaking the passwords would have to come on here, get the password, then go to the other site, post on there. By that time the freeroll will be full with members off here who can register directly.

If the freerolls are full when the thieves turn up they are going to b e most upset they've wasted their valuable credits on a freeroll they cant access.

There is one other way. And thats to make it so that the prize money is handed out at THIS site not the poker site. Therefore if they win a prize they have to come on here to claim it. Whats the use of stealing a PW if you have to be a member to claim any prize...

These are all ideas, and I think a mix of them would definitely make things alot easier on RB freeroll organisers and the players themselves

theallinkid989 Oct 12, 2008 6:16 am
dont worry i plan to sabotage the thief site tommorrow by putting the wrong password up. if we all do this eventually they will stop
4FlushCrush Oct 12, 2008 6:18 am

I just dont understand the PW sharing problem. Why can't these lazy morons just join and get them the proper way. I thought about copying the lists from RB's tournaments and cross-referencing our members list. Its always going to be a problem if the online sites do not help us block them from getting in.

When I first started joining forums I thought everyone was kidding about the problem or over reacting, but then I got banned by cardschat. LET ME JUST SAY I DID NOT SHARE ANY PASSWORD! I'm so damn new I didnt know anything about it, know where and why one would share a password for a private tournament and was doing good just to find it in time to enter the tournament. However, I was never told why i was banned other then "for violation of pw sharing" and no one ever responded to my messages. I thought it was very unprofessional of them and wouldnt play there now if they paid me to... because I stand strong by my morals. I don't lie, cheat or steal and if you accuse me of it; you better have damn good reason and give me the opportunity to prove what I already know, that your wrong!

They recently banned my girlfriend as well. She chose a name similar to mine, CrushedFlush but was banned for "using multiple accounts". They thought it was me, lol. We are serious about our poker so she joins every site that I get on and forum as well. We have had to send copies of our ID's to many of the online sites to prove this, which we gladly do so issues like cardschat do not happen. I think they accused me of password sharing because we both entered tournaments, but she was a member all ready so I did not see the point in her wasting time hunting for the pw. Now we wont even do that and its funny that she sitting in an adjoining room but hardly ever know what the other one is doing other then an occasionally "WOO HOO" or "DAMMIT". LMAO

I think that perhaps the focus on pw thieves is being aimed at the wrong people. Don't target the thieves. Target the leaks.

Passwords that are posted in blogs like this, for tournaments that are open to everyone are easily accessed and shared. But, I guess if we really cared who played in those tournaments, we wouldn't put them out there for public viewing. Other pw's are sent to us in pm's. These are the ones that I find it wrong for non memebers to be getting thier hands on. And these are being leaked out by some of our own. THOSE are the people that should be reported. I'm not going to waste the prorails time tattling on a person who got thier hands on a pw...there really is nothing the prorails can do about that. But, If I were to see a player give the password...THAT is the person who should be reported. If someone comes in and says that they didn't recieve the password...there is a reason that they didn't get it. If they say that they lost the password...then they should be told to send a message to a prorail and let the prorail decide if they are supposed to have it.

We, as railbirds, and the holders of these passwords, need to do our part to make sure that they are kept safe from the thieves. It isn't the thieves fault, that is what thieves do. It is our problem and our fault for not making sure that our precious passwords are kept safe.

That is just my opinion.
