Every online site seems the same. I make deposit and the first couple of days, playing rock solid poker a win more then I lose and get ahead a little. Then its like they flip a switch and boom! Every big hand gets suckedout on. I have had the same situation on three sites now, I'm not talking about one or two tourneys, its up to about thirty now. I understand luck is part of the game, but I also understand the odds.
I am not someone who donks it up just to see if I can win. I patiently wait for big hands and play them aggressively. I also play my position and chip stack relativeity. when all three things align and the idiot players keep sucking out for thirty tourneys in a row the only resonable conclusion is that the games are rigged.
After 29 times being outdrawn by a dominated hand ( AK vs A7 for example, or pocket 10s vs 7s) On FULL TILT, I run into this situation. I get pocket aces in the small blind, the pplayer immediately to my left is a donkey overplaying every hand and sucking out regularly. I raise, he reraises, I reraise him back, he goes all in, I call. He shows a5 of hearts and bingo he catches a flush on the flop. There is less then one % chance of this actually happening. Yet for thirty straight touneys i keep running into this garbage. Thats not poker, its cheating.
I do not want to complain constantly but these unlikely scenerios just keep happening and my money keeps disappearing. I have had the same thing happem on 4 major "poker sites". Make the deposit, get ahead a little and then get sucked out on in every tourney, everytime I get a big hand. At this point I do have any faith that I can ever play a fair game online.

i sont think its cheating just bad luck. I've not been playing poker online for to long but have realised that pocket aces is only a pair and if your putting your chips in everytime you get a big pair sooner or later your luck will run out
I just don't get why people lose hands and automatically think they are being cheated. If you truly believe you are being cheated or a site is rigged, why would you type it here? You should probably call your congressman.
I have been around the online poker world for a few years now. My tourney numbers suck but my cash games pay the bills. I have seen suckout streaks last for a week or even 2. I have seen hot streaks last for the same or longer. I have seen the miracle one outer against me and for me on many occasions. Stop keeping track of stats. When you are keeping track too closely, you will spin down the drain along with your numbers.
The one constant in my game is positivity. If you think a game is cheating you, or someone is out to get you, or a site or all of them are rigged, you will never be a consistant winner.
You must keep the positivity and play the game for what it is..........A GAME.
gl and I hope you continue with your poker game.

Its def not rigged! Esp your big name sites out there. Like Stars why would they risk there integrity for you little 50 or 100 dollar deposit?? Think about how much they make in a day. The reason stupid things happen more often online is more hands are being played per hour. In a live game you might get 40 hands or so in an hour, online youll get over 100. SO % comes into effect , AA loses more, gut shot hits, guy will hit his 2 outer.
Ive been playing online a while and I have come across a stragety that makes me around 50-75 a day. Its not that good but its constistent!!! And I get rakeback so that helps.
If you need any advice or anything jst hit me up im on here 24 hours a day
Good Luck!
i try very hard to believe that online poker is not rigged because i like to play , but i have stories of my own that make me wonder, and i have read of many simular stories.
when they turn on the doom switch just stop playing there for a week or so , they will miss ya and turn on the boom switch for awhile
You know, I wasn't going to respond to this, but I decided to come back and repsond to it anyways. I'm convinced that there is no doom swith, juicing of the pot, or cheating going on with these major poker sites, although they all have been accused of it at some point and time. I had the same problem for a while, where I would make a deposit, get ahead and then losse it all. I would get mad, throw my laptop across the room and even kick the dog- but it didn't seem to help! The fact is, most people are not familar with the laws of statistical variance. There also not aware of the "luck" factor involved and random card generators. If you play good solid poker, in the long the run it will even itself out. I know that it's hard to not look at a week or two where you've played and lost and say, "Dang, I think this is rigged!" The fact of the matter is, it's not. You need to pick your situations a little better and try to focus on the table a little more rather than checking your e-mails, surfing the web or watching television. Over the time, statitistical variance will allow you to be a winning player as long as your good strong player. It might even be a good idea to take a couple weeks off and come back refreshed and with you mindset better towards the game.
Anyways, good luck and hope things get better for ya.
Take a good hard look at your play and if you are honest with yourself you will see that you are not playing as strong as you might think.
Instead of posting your AA that got cracked by 37o in bad beats, bring ALL of your hands to HA, and let these guys help you become a better player.
In the same way a missed field goal can not win or loose a football game, 1 hand can not win or loose a poker tournament. If the offense had put 1 extra touch down on the board the missed field goal would not matter, and if you have played solid smart poker, 1 suck out wont end your tournament. (not including the 1st 2 or 3 hands).
The object is to build a bankroll that is large enough to ride out the highs and lows that happen to EVERY player in EVERY tournament.
(if this next part seems harsh, its because it is meant to be harsh)
Guys and Gals, y'all really do need to get over yourself. Cowboy up, take your licks for making that donk play and move on. The Site is NOT cheating you, you are cheating yourself by not refusing to acknowledge your limts and not being willing to set pride aside and take some time to learn the game.
We all know the basics of Texas hold'em poker, but none of us are masters of the game (if we were we would be writting books on how we won the wsop, not threads about loosing freerolls). However, I dont think there is a single player at this site that doesn't have the abilty to learn to be a master and win a bracelet.
As always, this is just my opinon. I could be wrong
hmmmmmmmmmm...the age old debate.....is online poker rigged?
I dont believe so....im by no means a veteran of poker..im only playing online since the beginning of the year and i have become a consistent winner..although in the last month i have not being winnning at the rate i was when i began...but having said that..its down to variance...not my play because if anything im playing better with each passing day..remmeber poker is a marathon and not a sprint!!!!!!!!!!!
Honestly... 30 games is hardly a big enough sample size to base anything on. I agree completely with above statement here by Cooper2005 100%.
I've run into some bad experiences no doubt, but was in sngs and in $5 buy-ins so what do I expect?? I lost 19 of 20 in a row after running with an ROI+18%, and each time I got my money in ahead and was either an 87% fav. on the flop, or a 4:1 fav. preflop (bigger pr. dominating smaller pair, they suckout and hit set). The thing is, you are also just going to run into more action junkies and lottery players as well and for example with sngs, it is to be expected (I know of guys who've run well for awhile, been up a few g's, then right back down to a few hun again, then back up, then back down,.. it's generally the nature of them and to be expected... and that's if you're playing well... incidentally, these guys were (are) very good players and was based on in excess of 1,000 games. HUGE VARIANCE in lower buyin sngs, and sngs in general.
In mtts, 95% of the time I'm getting KO'd it's by a hand I have totally dominated. THis is a good thing,... it is almost always how I end up going out. Good knowing that I got it in there with the best,.. I cannot control the outcome, it's the play that is important to me.
One last note,... there is the possiblity that it could also be a reflection of how you've played the hands. Have you considered this? Tripps up above here states how 'few people win consistency (sp... consistently) on these sites'... well duh.... few people win consistently in any poker period. It's estimated that only the top 10% actually make money period. So go for the top 10%, or work at getting better while being one of the 90% who are donating to the rest.
To consider online poker being rigged is utter nonsense. Although, to be more factual about it, there have been some large scandals in online poker. This is actually what I thought this post was going to be in reference to (ie. Absolute Poker pot ripper... and more recently Ultimate Bet and then needing to dole out $10M to highstakes cash game players who were swindled from an insider of UB). Do ya think they'd rig the micros? (rigging them for action , LOL... too funny).
GL if you decide to stick with it. Some great books can be had for the price of a dozen micro buyins,... well worth the price.
won several big payoffs and decided to cash some out....took out $2K,,,,then the bad beats came like a plague,,,,eventually depleating the 2K i had left in there,,
for a long time i blame the sites for it,,,,but now have accepted it was me,,,
your better players smell out these i love my hand scenerio's and get paid off with big moves on your stack,,,,,,good gaming and good luck
Sure there are bad beats, but just remember the bad beats can happen to everyone. You wouldn't be complaining right now if your were the person who beat someone badly.
Tips: Stop going all in pre flop; dicipline folds =] (Planter's Good Instinct Moment)
HAVE YOU CONSIDERED THE POSSIBILITY THAT YOURE NOT AS GOOD AT POKER AS YOU THINK YOU ARE?
TRY TAKING UP SOLITARE, THAT WAY YOULL KNOW THE GAME IS CLEAN
I JUST HAD A FRIEND LOSE ALL HIS MONEY ON THE FIRST DAY OF SPRING BREAK IN VEGAS LAST YEAR, HE LOST TO A HIGHER STRAIGHT FLUSH .... HIS RESPONSE, "ITS PART OF THE GAME"
IF A SHUFFLED DECK DIDNT YIELD THOSE SUCKOUTS AND HORRIBLE BEATS, THEN IT WOULD BE A RIGGED GAME AND WE'D ALL BE WEARING BRACELETS
The solution seems obvious to me then ! Be the guy who has the A7 instead of the A,K ! .... If donk play is rewarded over solid play, then find a game full of solid players and play like a donk ! You should be rich in no time !
....play on ...Tc.....
Next time just give the money to Poppa Cool he needs it
Topcat thats the dumbest thing Ive ever read.
Your supposed to be a pro railer??? Im just saying
Telling some one to play bad is not the thing to do, even online playing good poker is always better than playing like a donkey. Because you will run into a a good player and give it all away.
