The Imaginary Suckout

Oct 8, 2008 12:16 am Report Abuse

It doesn't count as a suckout if you are all in before the flop, hit your hand on the flop and lose on a later street. All that matters is the odds when you put your money in. It doesn't matter what street the hand is resolved on. It irritates me when someone whines about this when it was a coin flip when the money went in (or worse in there favor).

My all time favorite was the guy who claimed to "Have absolute PROOF Full Tilt poker is RIGGED!"
When a couple of us ask to see exactly what "Proof" he had, he produced three hand histories, in the first he had two mid pair and lost win someone filled the four card straight on the board.
The second, was his pocket jacks getting beat by two people in the hand , one with trip 6's the other with a fulsh.
and his BIG CLINCHER that "Absolutely proves Full Tilt is Rigged!" was a hand where he had pocket 5's(Yes I said 5's) and they got "Cracked" by everyone who stayed in the hand.
He ranted for days about how stupid we were if we didnt understand how him having his pocket 5's cracked proved its "ALL RIGGED!"

Thanks for reminding me about this , I needed a good laugh lol

no it would be a double suckout, they sucked out on the flop and got sucked on again

its not a suckout if your money was already in the pot. Thats when your percentage chance of winning are fixed in. In online poker all 5 cards a dealt with in a second or two, you should look at it as if all 5 cards are dealt at once. The fact that there is a turn and a river is irrelevant because there is no betting.
