Many, many of the players in the RB freerolls nowadays are, in fact, not Railbirds. They gained the password at one of the password sharing sites from a password thief. Most likely you ran into a few of those today. My experience is that registered members of Railbirds are among the friendliest and most respectful poker players at the tables.

Unfortunately it happens more than we like.

I have just learned to shut off chat and play my game.

Sad that the option has to be utilized, but I am thankful it is there for our use.

you can always block there chat

people are rude for this exact reason. it pisses people off and gets them off their game. I used to employ this strategy in live games in Atlantic City. needless to say, i haven't made many friends at the Taj, or the Borgota, or at the pink game at the Trop, but imo, i made more money being an a hole than being silent/nice guy.

I have actually broken up tables, numerous times...and collapse420 and BCounty can tell you the stories...lmao, there are many of them.

I don't do it anymore...mainly b/c i switched to stud and it's just a more math based game, so it's rare to put someone on tilt, at least in my experience.

like papapower said. many of the players playing the freerolls ARE NOT railbirds. just use the mute button.
aussiestorm69 Oct 7, 2008 8:38 pm
I play the freerolls and I'm not rude.. Ignore them as best u can or just find a mate and start yapping 2 them which is sometimes what i do
astrogini Oct 7, 2008 8:39 pm
One thing you have to understand is not all players who participate in the Railbirds Freerolls or Real Money Ranking tournaments are members of Railbirds as there are often times a lot of the ruder players are password thieves or less active birds.

While there are some birds that do fly off the handle sometimes, they are infact the minority.

My suggestion is to just mute them and continue to play your game. There's some out there that act that way JUST to put you on tilt and throw you off your game... so.. don't let them!

Good luck!

f*** the mute button...play back at 'em! it's just a bunch of typing, just a bunch of words...
zeebot Oct 7, 2008 8:49 pm
ya theres not much u can do i just ignore them, its funny to watch people blow up sometimes, its gambling u cant win them all.
astrogini Oct 7, 2008 9:00 pm
"f*** the mute button...play back at 'em! it's just a bunch of typing, just a bunch of words..."

Two wrongs don't make a right and it take a better person to just ignore them and move on.

I revert back to my childhood .. "sticks and stones ..."

CtPokerholic Oct 7, 2008 9:12 pm
honestly, I'm greatful to these types, they show me why I'm not a jerk to others

That pw thief site had 373 people view our password today and usually the number of views that our pw gets from that site is pretty close to the number of their members that crashes our freerolls.

We need to make it a requirement to register our poker site screen names before we are allowed to get the passwords. That wouldn't stop the crashers, but it would make it easier to spot the crashers and note them as well as catch the thief that post's them.

We caught the thief that posted to that site under a different name yesterday and we have done it in the past. They mess up sooner or later.

Not saying the rude people aren't railbirds, but that site has made it public that they want to ruin our freerolls and that does include making rude remarks.

Not being face-to-face gives people stupid courage.
colonie58 Oct 7, 2008 9:26 pm
Oh I like your Idea Buttondog or maybe have to use our rb name or pw with the reg. one to be able to play. Not sure how many ppl would be willing to give out there rb pw to thiefs cause then they would def. get caught. Just a thought.
Shiznizzled Oct 7, 2008 9:32 pm

Gini.... 2 wrongs don't make a right, but 3 rights make a left.

The logic is the same

JKravat Oct 7, 2008 9:46 pm

I agree with most here about this. I'm unsure if the RB database of screen names can be given to the host sites but this may help in registering.

Flushee, as far as the RUDE so called birds, who most of the time really aren't birds. I had one last week who was totally outrageous. I kept silent for a long time and then exploded on him after I researched his non-bird status, and called him out. There were no less than 3 non-birds at my table at the time. I actually got the guy on TILT when he kept pushing the table around and I caught a hand against him. A few hands later he's hugging the rail and screaming, etc. I just laughed at him. Of course I was a donk after that, but I loved it anyway.

tamochin Oct 7, 2008 10:32 pm
its been my experience that when you encounter someone being a jerk, this person is not a railbird. ive looked people up to see if they are and called them out on it to the whole table. when in fact they were not. just imagine the feeling this person has knowing they are in a private tourney and everone at the table knows that they do not belong. but i do believe im not 100% sure that any railer can invite anyone to our tourney. if thats the case, then it should be up to the railer to point out that we all treat eachother with respect and he or she should do the same.

Most registered Railbirds are awesome. Most PW thiefs are the culprits of rudeness. Although I can relate to your complaint, one day you will realize that you can't control these ignoramus mutants from the Planet Rude, but you can control how you play against them. Don't give up on Railbirds, there's plenty of us here who have respect for our members. (And give girl germs)
