Hey gang,
I just won 4 in a row! Hehe...
- Game # 1 was really a matter of being very fortunate. I had two early hands that I lost. (had to fold K,K after 6X BB raise when called and an A was flopped....don't remember what the other hand was that I folded, probably a stinker!) Now I was really short stacked and needed to win a medium pot just to get back to even. Turns out the entire table was very aggressive! I was fortunate to be able to sit back and watch the other bigger stacks bang away at each other. The key hand for me was when I folded 9,9 UTG with only about 1035 chips in my stack and 6 players left, when the BB was 250 and the ante was 15 or 25. UTG +1 raised and got called and then reraised. Chips were redistributed, but I was still the short stack. I got a little concerned at this point. The very next hand was two all in's and the bigger stack won. IE: I won.
- Game # 2 was very boring for everyone but me. I had good cards, I played them well enough to KO three other players and finish the tournament with the largest chip stack.
- Game # 3 was a little more interesting. I had some good cards that I played well, and occasionally folded. I also bluffed twice and won both of those hands. I played two big hands that I chased a little too long before finally folding. I made two good calls against what I perceived to be a weak bluff and was correct both times. I made two KO's and finished 1st in chips when the tourny ended.
- Game # 4 was definately the most difficult. I got really lucky with a suckout early on when I called an all in with top pair and a good kicker with a straight draw. The other guy flopped a set holding J,J and I caught the 8 on the river, giving me the Q,J,10,9,8 straight. The rest of the tournament was not quite as exciting, because everytime I got a premium hand and raised, I either had to fold to a bad flop/big raise, or I got no callers. I went from 7th to 1st. Then I went to 2nd, then 3rd, then 5th, the back to 2nd.
This game also took the longest because all the players were very much TAG'ers. It seemed as if the short stacks were doing the all in raises and the larger stacks were either flolding or calling and losing. I think I finally finished with the second largest chip stack when one of the shorter stacks moved in against a larger stack and lost. I was happy with the outcome.
The moral of the story is:
- You don't need good cards to win at poker, but it does make it easier.
- You don't need to get lucky at poker to win, but getting lucky at the right time can be a windfall.
- You don't need to play great poker all the time to win, but playing good poker most of the time is an advantage.
- You don't need to prove to the table that you are the biggest, badest, MF to ever walk the valley of Poker Death. EVER!
- Winning makes up for alot of mistakes!
Here is the question of the day:
If I would have played 4 single table Sit N Go's for $1.20 @ would I have done better in the long run?
- Game # 1: Not a very good chance of finishing in the top 3.
- Game # 2: Good chance of winning and almost certain to finish in the top 3.
- Game # 3: Fairly good chance of winning, but most likly 2nd place, or at worst 3rd.
- Game # 4: 2nd place would have been my goal here because the table was that tough!
Thanks for reading,
Best of luck on the tables!

Err, that's 5 in a row now.
Keep on cheering for me, it helps!
drqdog, you say that those good days come and go quickly, but in these Double or Nothing games, EVERYDAY can be a good day ! They are easy money if played right, and it has been proven by over 100 Railbirds so far, that I know of !
....Topcat....
I must agree with drgdog.... I have had a very good day.
I must also agree with topcat...... If you play very carefully, you can win more often than you lose.
I just lost my first tournament today. I enrolled in another and I am way down on chips.
I guess I will have to either play very, very carefully, or hope to get lucky again.... LOL!
Well drgdog,
It seems that my luck or good play ran out. I lost the next two tournaments, and barely won the third after your comment. That makes me 6 out of 8 today. I couldn't stand any worse stats than that.
Sounds good doesn't it? I won $12.00, but I risked $8.80. Not a very good return even though it is pretty easy money.
I understand the nothing part. I just don't understand the double part.
If it was really double or nothing, I should have like 72,000 dollars.
That didn't happen.
I got min rewards for max risk!
