SINGLE PARENT?...........a must read for all

Oct 7, 2008 1:29 am Report Abuse

Ok, now im a single full-time parent. My daughter is closing in on 4 years old in December. She is making all these new friends now.Well today, at 4pm cst there is a phone call to ask if her 2 friends can come over.............well, ok,not a problem. 2 friends arrive.Im down with this! Fun for my daughter.5 minutes later, knock at door.2 more friends show up ................I THINK YOU KNOW WHATS COMING NOW! This is my first taste of what its going to be like with a little girl. Ok, now i find out these girls....all 5 have not ate yet.Well trying to be the responsible parent, i start to make dinner....only to find out each one likes something different! Ok, now my foot goes down.Eat what i have or go home to eat,"we dont have anything good there!" exclaim a child. hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, i say
Well im a big push over, i mean, my daughter brings that out in me. Well i did make 2 different types of dinners and and several different snacks available for these young souls. Im only telling you this...............................because, if you are a single mom, YOU KNOW WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT HERE! ......................... if you are a Dad, and have never done this full-time, try it for a month once day in and day out.You will soon come to have a whole new appreciation for the Sinle parent . Have a great day Railbirds. wooooooooosh
Oh yes, im in a zoo right now and they may commit me soon! roflmao

I was a single parent to my son from the 8th grade until he joined the Air Force, and I can tell you this : Enjoy every moment you can, because it will seem like it was only a couple of days ago they were small, after they have left the nest !

....play on ....Tc....

i am a single parent to my 4 yr old son, which at first was tough, but has become the best reason for me to wake up everyday!

Ahhh yes, the trials and tribulations of single parenthood. I know exactly what you mean, I have 2 boys 8 and 14 and they used to require different meals, one like one thing the other like whatever I made. Now it seems the younger is getting better about what he will try. Hang in there you're doing a great job and it only gets better..until their teenagers! May God help you when that happens. lol!!!!

Dont get me wrong anyone, i love every minute of it, just tough at times and im not the most patient person
Hickbilly9 Oct 7, 2008 9:34 pm

I was in the same boat as TC but longer and I agree with him.You better enjoy it while you can.I know it's very hard sometimes but you just got to make the best of it.My son left the nest for college a year and a half ago and I miss him something terrible everyday. The older they get the more you worry about them. It's that way for me anyway.Enjoy them and lovem up while you can.Good luck and don't pull your hair out....lol.It will grow back though....lol.

THE BEST TO YOU AND YOURS!!!

hehehe You have the best of it all, little girl germs!!! LOL You're lucky, all my little ones are boys who eat everything in sight, discombobulate any item left out for the curious, and on WWE night . . . . well, I'll leave that to your imagination! Good luck hon, it sounds like you're doing GREAT! Uni
