man, i know how badly it sucks when you have that kind of day

it WILL get better, but since it probably won't any time soon you are doing the right thing to burn one and cool off.

getting away from poker for a while helps your head, and your game. you might even get lucky!

Remember what Yogi say's, "It aint over till it's over". He wasn't talking about baseball. In my opinion he was talking about a pre game hold'em game taking place in the club house. He had just beaten Billy Martin on the river.

I can't agree with you more. I have been running so bad on fulltilt it's just ridiculous. The beats don't stop and when they aren't bad they are just brutal. I've lost about 300 in the past 2 weeks on there and I normally only play small stake cash and tournies. How is that even possible?? I am getting so mad and don't know what to do.. I tried pokerstars today but it didn't stop. Cooling down is probably the best thing you can do and just take a break

When you start losing in fulltilt, it can go on for ever. You need to either go down in your buy-in or just start play chips for a while until you get your confidence back. Or, you can do what I did. I build a bankroll from freerolls in FTP and also in PS. So, if I start losing in one, I'll switch to the other site for a while. Of course if you are on tilt or just playing real bad, then, it's best to get away from it for a while and comeback fresh, focused, and playing with a purpose.

Well there are some other game options out there, like: Russian Roulette, Bungee jumping from your shower rod with a belt, we've all been there. i actually donked off $300 on FTP not long ago because I was so pissed about the beats. What a great idea, now I'm $300 in the hole and my ROI is off the charts.....

sohail you are SO right on with that advice! i completely agree.

there is a damage that can happen to you that's as bad or worse than the money loss: you can lose your confidence by subjecting yourself to a prolonged beating. if there's ample of evidence you are getting mugged, BAIL. or at the very least switch to play chips.

sometimes swtiching to pokerstars or UB changes your luck, and sometimes it doesn't. if you are getting your ass handed to you at fulltilt, why keep playing for money at a different site? you aren't likely to get it all back in one session, and if you do lose more you will feel even worse. and that will start to eat away at your self confidence.

i could see this if i was playing bad but im not......playing tight and picking my spots..going in with good cards...i had the best hand and still lost.. WHAT DOES FULL TILT DO FLIP A COIN SAY U WIN TODAY

playing any card game is all about luck. Every played War? Entirely about luck. I only play online poker when im extremely bored actually. It used to be exciting.

You just gotta be patient. If you feel that you're on tilt, take a break. Smoke a cig (marijuana is even better). Relax, then go back and wreck it.

I have not voiced my opinion on this type of blog before...but in this case I can commiserate with you nine_iron....After 2-3 months and over $600.00 lighter in my br I too feel the same way.....I even stopped playing real dollars for 2 weeks just played with funny money but even then the losing continued....I can't tell you how many times I went out on the bubble, including last nights SameOle tourney.....I keep asking myself what am I doing wrong...I changed my play...but alas that black cloud still looms over my head...sigh**I am at the point where I am about done.....And if one more person says it will get better or my ship will come in or there is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow...I will SCREAM!!! lol THANKS for letting me vent too

Lemme just say something here..... poker is poker.. its actually my getaway. It sucks when my getaway kicks my arse too... trust me i know. But thigs could be worse. Im looking at some pretty hard time in life right now, and the ONLY thing getting e through it is my man, havingmy kids and my getaway. So think about some other things going wrong in your life and i'll bet you 100 bucks... that poker is just something you could either cut out or try to do better at.... Thats what im telling myself.

Peace

It may not be Full Tilts fault, in fact it may be a sign that your playing better poker.
When you are playing bad poker you are always going in with the weaker hand, and over playing draws, so basicly since the good players are ahead more often you get sucked out on very rarely.
Now when you are playing good poker, you are getting your chips in with the best hand more often, you are getting away from hands when you are behind, so the only way for you to lose is to have other players suck out, catch 1-2 outters ect.
Ask any pro and he will tell you the better you play the more you get sucked out on.

So maybe its a good sign........just trying to help...
