Make a profit with low limit games

Oct 7, 2008 12:29 am Report Abuse

Nothing seems to hold up. It's hopeless. You start with aces in hold'em. The flop is A-7-6. The turn is a five and the river is a nine. You feel queasy. You just know in your heart that somebody has an eight and will beat your three aces with a straight. You learn to expect it.

It happens in low limit games continually and nothing helps you raise reraise and still no avail.

The way to win over this is to continue to play tight and stay patient. Don't loosen up your game don't try tricks the players at low limit games are not adept enough to understand.

Straight forward tight aggressive is the best way to enter into the loose low limit game.

U R so Right! but why do good players play in those?

In a loose game, You need to see a cheap flop with premium hands, and then make a correct judgement. A raise is good at times to build up the pot but not good if you want to isolate, because everyone seems to call anyways. This is why real premium cards decrease in value, but a lot of medium range hands that are often folded in tight games now become playable. Specailly the connectors. At the end of the day, you will need to have a good read on your opponents and make good judgements post flop. Of course in short run you may still lose, but you will be a winner in the longe run.

good players play em to go donkey killing.

Az...i try more and more to pay attention to each player...its tough, but can be done. Also i have started to write "notes" about each player...has and will come in handy
