Have you ever played fantastically in a tournament and your 6th in the entire field coming towards the money. But then a guy with the same amount of chips comes to the table and in just one hand your crippled. Heres what happened... I had 24k in chip other guy has 26k, I get delt AJ of clubs, flop came 7(H) 2(C) 9(C), he bets i call, turn Q(C,) he goes all in, i call, he shows Q9(Two Pair), i show AJ(flush), wat comes on river.........Q(S), after 2hours of solid play im gone, with nothing in my pocket.

Kind of annoying

Yup.......that is kinda annoying. You had a very good hand, and some bad luck. Better luck next time.

Take care and good luck.

When that close to the money only play against short stacks!

That's bad advice. You made the 100% correct call and got sucked out on, so be it. Load up another and forget about it.

It's one of those unwritten rules that when close to the money the big stacks avoid one another even when it appears that you have the current nuts. Without the abso lute nuts anything can and will happen.

I think with that hand and the very low % that a Q comes on the river, I would shove, double up and move on to win.

IMHO you should have folded after the flop and not chased the flush

not sure what the size of that bet was tho

after getting the nut ....you..should have pushed all in...not call an all in. (He probably would have chased it anyways). Late in matches ive had this happen enough times after having the nut flush to be very aware of full houses...so beware. A pair on the board should raise a red flag..Also, have you noticed after the 1st break, only power hands win? catching high sets...full houses..flushes....straights....how many times have you folded pre-flop only to see it flop onto a monster?....kinda makes you think about your opening hand requrements...(jk) I wonder if the "system" goes into a tougher skill mode.

That late in a tourney before your ITM play super cautious.. and like Fold-Intern said...only be very agressive against the shortstack. Play it safe...... remember the pig gets fat and the hog gets slaughtered......be the pig

very unfortunate! That happens to me sometimes to. It one thing when the other person doesnt suckout. But to get beat like that is very frusterating
TexquinOntilt Oct 7, 2008 12:37 am
The players skill levels are much higher at the end, that's why the powerhouse hands prevail. Basically you don't see the others cause they are folded.
