i know its only ten duece. but i was certain i had him until the river.. but i think i misplayed the turn... then misplayed the river.
i should of pushed on the turn.
i bet everyway...
i figured he had a ten or a seven...
i pushed on the A hoping that if i was wrong and he had J10 etc.. he would fold
but he called on a A5 the whole way.
You misplayed the hand pretty badly. As played you could lead out with a small defensive bet on the river that either gets you paid off if he is calling the whole way with a small pair like he was or allows you to lose only a small amount of your chips if he does have you beat by either catching a card on the river or if he already had you beat. It also allows you to get away from the hand if he reraises you since he could have easily had 8 6 there and been slowplaying if he hit his straight on the turn. By the way...what would you have done differently on the turn as you stated that you thought you misplayed it?
okay preflop your opponent limped in. So I'm not putting him on nothing big here unless he was just trying to trap an agressive maniac at the table. You flopped top pair, and you bet $110, which I think was an okay bet by you, but I think $80 would of given you the same information.(or 2/3rds of the pot) Now he called you. Hmm, he limped preflop from an early postion. So now we got a general idea where hes at in this hand. 1) he's on a draw with some suited connectors 2) he's got the other two 10's and he's slow playing it(unlikely) or 3) he's got A7 or A5 or just Ax. So on this turn, you took another shot at it. Probally a bad idea, cause if he was on the straight draw, he just hit it. I think check here and see what his action would of been. Atleast you could of got away with minimum loss. And of course pushing all in on the river...with a pair of tens with an ace on the board, really bad idea.
So overall, yeah...probally not the best move here. The turn and the river are the hardest streets to play, and on the river value betting would have even got the job done. Long story short, this guys just a donk that got lucky on the river. He should of never been in that hand from an early position with A-5 off, unless the table is so tight that he can justify it.
That's what I think.
you guys are playing cards not poker!!
i pushed with the Ace because it was a good card for me. I dont think this dude would of called all the way down with an ace.. unless ACE 10.. the ace could of been a scare card for him and he would of folded maybe K10 or q10 etc.
